Efficacy of Wuda Granule on Recovery of Gastrointestinal Function after Laparoscopic Bowel Resection: A Randomized Double-Blind Controlled Trial.

Objective: To evaluate the efficacy and safety of Wuda Granule (WDG) on recovery of gastrointestinal function after laparoscopic bowel resection in the setting of enhanced recovery after surgery (ERAS)-based perioperative care.

Methods: A total of 108 patients aged 18 years or older undergoing laparoscopic bowel resection with a surgical duration of 2 to 4.5 h were randomly assigned (1:1) to receive either WDG or placebo (10 g/bag) twice a day from postoperative days 1-3, combining with ERAS-based perioperative care.

The success of bone tissue engineering depends on the construction of scaffolds that can regulate the immune microenvironment of bone regeneration and mimic the liquid crystal and viscoelastic properties of natural bone extracellular matrix. Hence, a smart hydrogel (PEGDA5/AM15/CLC-BMP-4@MBG) with good biocompatibility and the ability to modulate the wound immune microenvironment has been developed for the repair of skull defects.

Background: The wedge effect is known to be influenced by the insertion of the proximal femoral intramedullary nail through the fracture line and the large proximal diameter of the nail. However, the impact of the nail insertion angle (NIA) on the wedge effect remains unclear. This study aimed to investigate: (1) how to evaluate the NIA intraoperatively, (2) whether the NIA is associated with the wedge effect, (3) whether the NIA can serve as a reliable predictor of the wedge effect, (4) which factors affect the NIA, and (5) which surgical techniques can prevent the occurrence of the wedge effect associated with the NIA.

Our methodology included weighted multivariate logistic regression, weighted cox proportional hazards regression and restricted cubic spline (RCS) models, supported by stratified and sensitivity analyses.
