As the first trastuzumab biosimilar introduced in China, there are few studies on the clinical application of HLX02, especially in combination with other antitumour drugs, for the treatment of HER-2-positive breast cancer. A multicenter retrospective study was conducted in three hospitals in China to select patients with HER-2-positive breast cancer who met the inclusion criteria and received HLX02 or the reference trastuzumab. Ninety-six patients diagnosed with HER-2-positive breast cancer were finally included and divided into two groups and treated with HLX02 or the reference trastuzumab.

Topical application of temperature-sensitive caerin 1.1 and 1.9 gel inhibits TC-1 tumor growth in mice.

Am J Transl Res

January 2020

The First Affiliated Hospital/Clinical Medical School, Department of Nuclear Medicine, Guangdong Pharmaceutical University Guangzhou 510080, Guangdong, China.

Article Synopsis
  • Genital warts are caused by HPV, mainly subtypes 6 and 11, and current treatments like 5% imiquimod cream have low clearance and compliance rates.
  • Researchers developed a temperature-sensitive gel using host-defense peptides from Australian tree frogs that showed promise in inhibiting HPV-infected cells in a mouse model.
  • The gel not only maintained its effectiveness over 30 days but also attracted immune cells to the treatment site, suggesting potential as an alternative treatment for genital warts with further optimization.

Background: Estrogen exerts neuroprotective and anti-inflammatory effects in EAE and multiple sclerosis (MS), but its clinical application is hindered due to side effects and risk of tumor. Phytoestrogen structurally or functionally mimics estrogen with fewer side effects than endogenous estrogen. Icariin (ICA), an active component of Epimedium extracts, demonstrates estrogen-like neuroprotective effects.
