Background: Metabolic reprogramming (MR) and epithelial-mesenchymal transition (EMT) are crucial phenomena involved in the distant metastasis of breast cancer (BRCA). This study aims to assess the risk of distant metastasis in BRCA patients based on MR and EMT processes and investigate their underlying mechanisms.
Methods: Gene sets related to EMT and MR were downloaded.

Objective: Cancer is closely related to age, and the incidence of cancer increases with age. However, there are few studies on the relationship between age and clinical characteristics of lung cancer.
Patients And Methods: We collected all the consecutive lung cancer cases from 2012 to 2017 in our hospital and divided them into 6 groups according to their ages: ≤40 y/o, 41~50 y/o, 51~60 y/o, 61~70 y/o, 71~80 y/o and >80 y/o.

Objective: To understand the value of high frequency ultrasound in the clinical screening of parathyroid gland, and to summarize the intrinsic relationship between primary hyperparathyroidism and recurrent urinary calculi.
Patients And Methods: 98 cases of urinary calculi were randomly selected, and the patients were admitted to our hospital from March 2014 to August 2017. A total of 100 healthy subjects were selected as group B in the same period.

Background: The pro-inflammatory cytokine, tumor necrosis factor-α (TNF-α), is expressed in ischemic tissue and is known to modulate angiogenesis; however, the role of the two distinct TNF-α receptors, TNFR1 and TNFR2, in mediating angiogenic signaling after cerebral ischemic stroke is relatively unknown.
Methods: C57BL6 mice were subject to 90 min of ischemia by temporary occlusion of the middle cerebral artery (MCAO) and given daily intra-cerebroventricular injections of antibodies against TNFR1, TNFR2 or control IgG (doses of 10, 50, and 100 ng/day) for 4 days following 90 min MCAO. Vascular remodeling and α5β1 and αVβ3 integrin expression were then examined in the brains of these mice after 4, 7, and 14 days post-ischemia.

Objective: The aim of this study was to compare the diagnostic performance of Virtual Touch Tissue Imaging & Quantification (VTIQ) and Virtual Touch Tissue Quantification (VTQ) in differentiating benign from malignant thyroid nodules (TNs).
Materials And Methods: In this study 107 TNs in 107 patients were enrolled and analyzed. All of them were detected by conventional ultrasound (US) and confirmed by fine-needle aspiration (FNA) biopsy or surgery.

Breast cancer is the most common cancer and the leading cause of cancer-related death among women worldwide, with urgent need to develop new therapeutics. Targeted therapy is a promising strategy for breast cancer therapy. Stromal-derived factor-1/CXC chemokine receptor 4 (CXCR4) has been implicated in the metastasis of breast cancer, which renders it to be therapeutic target.

Objectives: To study the effect of aspirin on healing process of osteoporotic fracture (OPF) in rats.
Methods: A total of 50 female Wistar rats aged 3 months were randomly divided into observation group and control group, castration method was adopted to establish the osteoporosis (OP) model. After artificial preparing fractures on the midpoint of left femur, fixing gram needle intramedullary, OPF modeling was complete.

Mangiferin, a xanthonoid found in plants including mangoes and iris unguicularis, was suggested in previous studies to have anti-hyperglycemic function, though the underlying mechanisms are largely unknown. This study was designed to determine the therapeutic effect of mangiferin by the regeneration of β-cells in mice following 70% partial pancreatectomy (PPx), and to explore the mechanisms of mangiferin-induced β-cell proliferation. For this purpose, adult C57BL/6J mice after 7-14 days post-PPx, or a sham operation were subjected to mangiferin (30 and 90 mg/kg body weight) or control solvent injection.
