The secretion disorder of sex hormones is the source that leads to the occurrence of many diseases such as polycystic ovarian syndrome (PCOS), hyperandrogenism and so on. There exist physiological changes in human body when slight fluctuations in concentrations of sex hormones happen. Therefore, it's of great significance for accurate detection of sex hormones in human body.

Nowadays, nanoscale zero valent iron (nZVI) has been extensively applied for the decontamination of various pollutants, but passivation of nZVI severely affects its reactivity in use. In this study, ultrasound (US)-assisted catalytic reduction of Cr(VI) by an acid mine drainage based nZVI (AMD-nZVI) coupling with FeS system was systematically examined. Results show that the presence of FeS and US induced a synergistic enhancement of Cr(VI) removal by AMD-nZVI.

In this paper, a matrix-assisted laser desorption/ionization (MALDI) Fourier transform ion cyclotron resonance (FTICR) mass spectrometry (MS) (MALDI-FTICR-MS) imaging method was developed to rapid and in situ detect the spatial distribution of lysophospholipids (LPLs) in zebrafish. The combination of MALDI with ultrahigh-resolution FTICR-MS achieves the MS imaging of LPLs with a mass resolution up to 50 000, which allows accurate identification and clear spatial visualization of LPLs in complex biological tissues. A series of lysophosphatidylcholines (LPCs) was detected using positive ion detection mode, and their concentration differences and spatial distributions were clearly visualized in different parts of zebrafish tissue.

Tetragonal CuBiO/amorphous BiFeO (T-CBO/A-BFO) composites are prepared via a one-step solvothermal method at mild conditions. The T-CBO/A-BFO composites show expanded visible light absorption, suppressed charge recombination, and consequently improved photocatalytic activity than T-CBO or A-BFO alone. The T-CBO/A-BFO with an optimal T-CBO to A-BFO ratio of 1:1 demonstrates the lowest photoluminescence signal and highest photocatalytic activity.

As one of the leading causes of food poisoning, staphylococcal enterotoxins (SEs) secreted by pose a serious threat to human health. The immunoassay has become the dominant tool used for the rapid detection of harmful bacteria and toxins as a result of its excellent specificity. However, with regard to SEs, staphylococcal protein A (SpA) is likely to bind with the fragment crystallizable (Fc) terminal of the traditional antibody and result in a false positive, limiting the practical application of this method.
