J Clin Ultrasound

July 2024

Department of Ultrasound, The Second Affiliated Hospital of Guangzhou University of Chinese Medicine, Guangdong Hospital of Chinese Medicine, Guangzhou, China.

We report a case of a 48-year-old man with testicular infarction caused by epididymo-orchitis (EO). Multimodal ultrasound showed extensive necrosis of the testis, and the patient underwent right orchiectomy. Postoperative pathology confirmed extensive necrosis of the testis.

Purpose: Many high-risk osteopenia and osteoporosis patients remain undiagnosed. We proposed to construct a convolutional neural network model for screening primary osteopenia and osteoporosis based on the lumbar radiographs, and to compare the diagnostic performance of the CNN model adding the clinical covariates with the image model alone.

Methods: A total of 6,908 participants were collected for analysis, including postmenopausal women and men aged 50-95 years, who performed conventional lumbar x-ray examinations and dual-energy x-ray absorptiometry (DXA) examinations within 3 months.

Subtype Classification and Prognosis Signature Construction of Osteosarcoma Based on Cellular Senescence-Related Genes.

J Oncol

September 2022

Department of Orthopedics, The Second Clinical Medical College, Guangzhou University of Chinese Medicine Guangdong Hospital of Chinese Medicine, Guangzhou University of Chinese Medicine, Guangzhou, Guangdong 510000, China.

Background: Cellular senescence (CS) is an alternative procedure that replaces or reinforces inadequate apoptotic responses and is used as an influencing factor for a variety of cancers. The value of CS gene in evaluating the immunotherapy response and clinical outcome of osteosarcoma (OS) has not been reported, and an accurate risk model based on CS gene has not been developed for OS patients.

Methods: 279 CS genes were obtained from CellAge.

Identification of potential key genes associated with osteosarcoma based on integrated bioinformatics analyses.

J Cell Biochem

August 2019

Department of Orthopedics, Guangdong Hospital of Chinese Medicine, Guangzhou University of Chinese Medicine, Guangzhou, Guangdong, China.

Due to high rates of metastasis and poor clinical outcomes for patients, it is important to study the pathomechanisms of osteosarcoma. However, due to the fact that osteosarcoma shows significant interindividual variation and high heterogeneity, the identification of differentially expressed genes (DEGs) at the population level cannot answer many important questions related to osteosarcoma tumorigenesis. Therefore, a new strategy to identify dysregulated genes in osteosarcoma samples is required.

The Tiaopi Huxin recipe (TPHXR) is widely used in traditional Chinese medicine for the clinical treatment of coronary heart disease. However, the mechanism of TPHXR treatment of atherosclerosis (AS) has not been fully elucidated. In this study, we have aimed to explore the potential antiatherosclerotic effect of TPHXR and its underlying mechanisms.
