Electronic address:

An ultrasensitive electrochemical immunosensor based on signal amplification of the deposition of the electroactive ferrocene-tyramine (Fc-Tyr) molecule, catalyzed by horseradish peroxidase (HRP), was constructed for the detection of the liver cancer marker Glypican-3 (GPC3). Functional electroactive molecule Fc-Tyr is reported to exhibit both the enzymatic cascade catalytic activity of tyramine signal amplification (TSA) and the excellent redox properties of ferrocene. In terms of design, the low matrix effects inherent in using the magnetic bead platforms, a quasi-homogeneous system, allowed capturing the target protein GPC3 without sample pretreatment, and loading HRP to trigger the TSA, which induced a large amount of Fc-Tyr deposited on the electrode surface layer by layer as a signal probe for the detection of GPC3.

A highly sensitivity self-powered biosensor is developed based on T7 exonuclease (T7 Exo) and 3D DNA walker induced rolling circle amplification (RCA) for electrochemical/colorimetric dual-mode detection of microRNA-21 (miRNA-21) with improved reliability. Taking its advantage of fascinating properties, such as high structure defects and good conductivity, graphdiyne is prepared and used to prepare high-performance enzyme biofuel cell. T7 Exo-assisted 3D DNA walker target recognition triggers RCA reaction to obtain a significantly amplified signal response.

Article Synopsis
  • - Rabies is a deadly disease caused by the rabies virus, and diagnosing it relies on the patient's history and visible symptoms, making quick diagnosis essential for control and prevention.
  • - Researchers have developed a novel photoelectrochemical biosensing approach (PBA) using nanomaterials that enables rapid and reliable detection of the rabies virus at very low concentrations.
  • - This new method outperforms traditional techniques like RT-PCR in sensitivity and can detect the virus in brain and lung tissues from infected animals.

Purpose: This study aims to investigate the relationship between peripheral blood oxytocin (OT), vasopressin (AVP), and subjectively perceived stress and cortisol in male opioid addicts based on the hypothalamic-pituitary-adrenal (HPA) axis. We also investigate the impact of exercise on reducing subjectively perceived stress, craving level, negative reinforcement, anxiety, sleep quality, plasma OT, AVP, and cortisol levels.

Methods: Participants were divided into 28 subjects in the low-stress control group (LSC group), 29 subjects in the medium-high stress control group (MTHSC group), and 28 subjects in the moderate-high-stress exercise group (MTHSE group), based on their subjectively perceived stress levels.

Engineering Research Center of Forestry Biomass Materials and Bioenergy, Ministry of Education, East China Woody Fragrance and Flavor Engineering Research Center of National Forestry and Grassland Administration, Beijing Forestry University, Beijing 100083, China.

Sandy soil has poor water-holding performance, making it difficult for plants to survive, which worsens the deterioration of the ecological environment. Therefore, borax cross-linked galactomannan hydrogel (GMGH) was prepared, and its practicability as a water-retaining agent was analyzed. GMGH exhibited fast self-healing performance (150 s, ≈100%) and a high swelling index (88.

The vegetable oil industry is limited by the high cost of the refining process, and the camellia shells (CS) are beneficial to the development of the industry as a biomass raw material for camellia oil decolorization. In this study, CS-based p-doped porous activated carbon (CSHAC) obtained after the pyrolysis of HPO-laden CS-hydrochar (CSH) was used for the adsorption of carotenoids in camellia oil. The results showed that the adsorption efficiency of CSHAC for carotenoids was 96.

Density peak clustering is the latest classic density-based clustering algorithm, which can directly find the cluster center without iteration. The algorithm needs to determine a unique parameter, so the selection of parameters is particularly important. However, for multi-density data, when one parameter cannot satisfy all data, clustering often cannot achieve good results.

Milk fat globule membrane (MFGM) protein is a complex milk protein system with antioxidant property, which can alleviate skeletal muscle dysfunction caused by oxidative stress. In this study, peptide products of MFGM protein obtained through in vitro digestion were isolated and purified, and the composition and antioxidant activities of MFGM peptides (MFGMP) were identified and assessed using LC-MS/MS combined with molecular docking and in vitro approach. Three novel antioxidant peptides TGIIT, YAR and YYK were identified from MFGMPF1, among which TGIIT and YAR exhibited excellent antioxidant effects and protected dexamethasone (Dex)-induced L6 cells by enhancing mitochondrial function and biogenesis involving modulating Sirt-1/PGC-1α signaling pathway.

This paper studies the relation of information cost, retail investor sentiment and asset pricing. Our motivation to study this model is to learn why retail investors could move asset price away from fundamental values. In the model, the institutional investors are pessimistic and the retail investors are optimistic, the ratio of the expected utility of informed and rational but uninformed institutional investors increases first and then decreases as the cost of information increases.

N-acetylglucosamine (GlcNAc) is widely used in nutritional supplement and is generally produced from chitin using chitinases. While most GlcNAc is produced from colloidal chitin, it is essential that chitinases be acidic enzymes. Herein, we characterized an acidic, highly salinity tolerance and thermostable chitinase ChiJ, identified from the marine fungus df673.

Conventional wisdom suggests mid-task rest as a potential approach to relieve the time-on-task (TOT) effect while accumulating evidence indicated that acute exercise might also effectively restore mental fatigue. However, few studies have explored the neural mechanism underlying these different break types, and the results were scattered. This study provided one of the first looks at how different types of fatigue-recovery break exerted influence on the cognitive processes by evaluating the corresponding behavioral improvement and neural response (EEG power spectral) in a sustained attention task.

The clustered regularly interspaced palindromic repeat (CRISPR)-associated (Cas) system functions classically as a prokaryotic defense system against invading mobile genetic elements, such as phages, plasmids, and viruses. Our previous study revealed that CRISPR deletion caused increased transcription of capsular polysaccharide (CPS) synthesis-related genes and severely attenuated virulence in the hypervirulent piscine Streptococcus agalactiae strain GD201008-001. Here, we found that CRISPR deficiency resulted in reduced adhesion, invasion, and biofilm formation abilities in this strain by upregulating the production of CPS.
