Background And Aims: Postoperative recurrence requiring medical treatment intensification or redo-surgery is common after ileocolic resection (ICR) for Crohn's disease (CD). This study aimed to identify a subgroup of CD patients for whom ICR could achieve durable remission.
Methods: This retrospective follow-up study analyzed 592 CD patients who underwent ICR (2013-2015) in a nationwide prospective cohort.

Cryptococcus neoformans/gattii and Histoplasma capsulatum var. capsulatum may present atypical histopathological features inducing diagnostic errors. We aimed to estimate the frequency of these atypical features in formalin-fixed tissue (FT) samples and to assess the relevance of an integrated histomolecular diagnosis using specific H.

Background: It is unknown which maintenance therapy is the most effective option for patients admitted for an acute severe ulcerative colitis (ASUC) episode responding to intravenous steroids.
Methods: We conducted a multicentre, parallel-group, open-label randomised controlled trial among 23 French centres in thiopurine and biologics-naïve adults admitted for ASUC responding to intravenous steroids. Eligible patients were randomly assigned to receive infliximab (IFX) and azathioprine (AZA) with a 7-day steroid tapering scheme (IFX+AZA arm) or AZA and conventional standardised steroid tapering regimen (AZA arm).

Background: Nutrition is largely affected in bipolar disorder (BD), however, there is a lack of understanding on the relationship between dietary categories, BD, and the prevalence of metabolic syndrome. The objective of this study is to examine dietary trends in BD and it is hypothesized that diets with increased consumption of seafood and high-fiber carbohydrates will be correlated to improved patient outcomes, and a lower frequency of metabolic syndrome.
Methods: This retrospective cohort study includes two French cohorts.

Background: The association between the pattern of cortical thickness (CT) and executive dysfunction (ED) in mild cognitive impairment (MCI) and subjective cognitive complaints (SCC) is still poorly understood. We aimed to investigate the association between CT and ED in a large French cohort (MEMENTO) of 2323 participants with MCI or SCC.
Methods: All participants with available CT and executive function data (verbal fluency and Trail Making Test [TMT]) were selected (n=1924).

FMS-related tyrosine kinase 3 ligand (FLT3L), encoded by FLT3LG, is a hematopoietic factor essential for the development of natural killer (NK) cells, B cells, and dendritic cells (DCs) in mice. We describe three humans homozygous for a loss-of-function FLT3LG variant with a history of various recurrent infections, including severe cutaneous warts. The patients' bone marrow (BM) was hypoplastic, with low levels of hematopoietic progenitors, particularly myeloid and B cell precursors.

The complex interaction between viruses and fungi has profound implications, especially given the significant impact of these microorganisms on human health. While well-known examples such as HIV, influenza, and SARS-CoV-2 are recognized as risk factors for invasive fungal diseases, the relationship between viruses and fungi remains largely underexplored outside of these cases. Fungi and viruses can engage in symbiotic or synergistic interactions.

Objectives: Allergic fungal rhinosinusitis (AFRS) and eosinophilic mucin chronic rhinosinusitis (EMRS) are two forms of chronic sinusitis distinguished by the presence (AFRS) or absence (EMRS) of fungal elements in sinus mucin. Detection of the fungal elements, however, is complex and it is difficult to say whether EMRS is in fact an entity distinct from AFRS. The aim of the present study, based on a retrospective series of AFRS and EMRS, was to identify the specific clinical and radiological elements distinguishing between the two.

Objective: Evaluation of the management by first brachytherapy followed by radical hysterectomy (Wertheim type) compared to radical hysterectomy alone (Wertheim type) for the treatment of IB2 cervical cancer.
Methods: Data from women with histologically proven FIGO stage IB2 cervical cancer treated between April 1996 and December 2016 were retrospectively abstracted from twelve French institutions with prospectively maintained databases.
Results: Of the 211 patients with FIGO stage IB2 cervical cancer without lymph node involvement included, 136 had surgical treatment only and 75 had pelvic lymph node staging and brachytherapy followed by surgery.

Objective: The aim of this study was to assess updated mortality and causes of death in people with HIV (PWH) in France.
Design And Methods: We analyzed all deaths in PWH followed up between January 1, 2020, and December 31, 2021, in 11 hospitals in the Paris region. We described the characteristics and causes of death among deceased PWH, and evaluated the incidence of mortality and associated risk factors using a multivariate logistic regression.

Objectives: Ceftolozane-tazobactam (C/T) proved its efficacy for the treatment of infections caused by non-carbapenemase producing Pseudomonas aeruginosa and Enterobacterales. Here, we aimed to provide susceptibility data on a large series of Enterobacterales since the revision of EUCAST categorization breakpoints in 2020.
Methods: First, C/T susceptibility was determined on characterized Enterobacterales resistant to third generation cephalosporins (3GCs) (extended spectrum β-lactamase [ESBL] production or different levels of AmpC overexpression) (n = 213) and carbapenem-resistant Enterobacterales (CRE) (n = 259), including 170 carbapenemase producers (CPE).

The FilmArray Blood Culture Identification 2 panel (BCID2; bioMérieux) is a fully automated PCR-based assay for identifying bacteria, fungi, and bacterial resistance markers in positive blood cultures (BC) in about 1 h. In this multicenter study, we evaluated the performance of the BCID2 panel for pathogen detection in positive BC. Conventional culture and BCID2 were performed in parallel at four tertiary-care hospitals.

Aims: Metabolic Syndrome (MetS) is a major health epidemic of Western countries and patients with schizophrenia is a particularly vulnerable population due to lifestyle, mental illness and treatment factors. However, we lack prospective data to guide prevention. The aim of our study is then to determine MetS incidence and predictors in schizophrenia.
