Background: The efficacy of injections of mesenchymal stem cells (MSC) for anal fistula treatment may be impaired by the persistence of stools passing into the fistula, causing bacterial contamination and a local inflammatory reaction. We aimed to compare remission rates between patients treated by MSC injection with simple sutures and those treated with a rectal advancement flap.
Methods: This single-center prospective study compared the first patients who underwent internal opening closure with sutures with the subsequent patients treated with a flap.

Background: Large datasets of transcatheter aortic valve implantation (TAVI) for pure aortic valve regurgitation (PAVR) are scarce.
Aims: We aimed to report procedural safety and long-term clinical events (CE) in a contemporary cohort of PAVR patients treated with new-generation devices (NGD).
Methods: Patients with grade III/IV PAVR enrolled in the FRANCE-TAVI Registry were selected.

Objectives: The percentage of shunt fraction significantly impacts the management of patients with congenital shunts, influencing strategic choices such as surgical or interventional procedures. This study compared the estimated shunt fraction (the ratio of pulmonary-to-systemic flow, Qp/Qs) for quantifying the left-to-right shunt in children with ventricular septal defect (VSD) using heart catheterization, four-dimensional (4D) flow, and two-dimensional (2D) flow magnetic resonance imaging (MRI). The goal was to establish a non-invasive and reliable measurement ratio between pulmonary and systemic blood flow in these patients.

Background: POINCARE-2 trial aimed to assess the effectiveness of a strategy designed to tackle fluid overload through daily weighing and subsequent administration of treatments in critically ill patients. Even in highly standardized care settings, such as intensive care units, effectiveness of such a complex intervention depends on its actual efficacy but also on the extent of its implementation. Using a process evaluation, we aimed to provide understanding of the implementation, context, and mechanisms of change of POINCARE-2 strategy during the trial, to gain insight on its effectiveness and inform the decision regarding the dissemination of the intervention.

Background: Critical-illness survivors may experience post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and quality-of-life impairments. Resilience may protect against psychological trauma but has not been adequately studied after critical illness. We assessed resilience and its associations with PTSD and quality of life, and also identified factors associated with greater resilience.

Atherosclerotic lesions of the femoral artery bifurcation are one of the most complex lesion subsets commonly encountered in peripheral artery disease. Common femoral endarterectomy remains the standard of care in this location due to the bulky, eccentric, heavily calcified nature of the plaques, the frequent involvement of the femoral bifurcation, and the risk of compromising future femoral approaches. Recent studies have reported high rates of technical success and low rates of complications with endovascular treatment of the femoral artery bifurcation.

INSERM UMR_S 999 Pulmonary Hypertension: Pathophysiology and Novel Therapies Le Plessis Robinson France.
Background: The primary genetic risk factor for heritable pulmonary arterial hypertension is the presence of monoallelic mutations in the gene. The incomplete penetrance of mutations implies that additional triggers are necessary for pulmonary arterial hypertension occurrence. Pulmonary artery stenosis directly raises pulmonary artery pressure, and the redirection of blood flow to unobstructed arteries leads to endothelial dysfunction and vascular remodeling.

Cystic fibrosis is one of the most common genetic diseases among caucasian population. This disease is caused by mutations in the cystic fibrosis transmembrane conductance regulator (CFTR) gene encoding for the CFTR protein. Lumacaftor, elexacaftor, tezacaftor, and ivacaftor were currently used as the treatment to Cystic fibrosis.

We present the case of a 36-year-old female who was diagnosed at birth with CHI that caused severe hypoglycaemia unresponsive to Diazoxide. Subtotal pancreatectomy was performed at the age of three weeks. Later, histological analysis of her pancreas in a research setting revealed a focal form of CHI.

Transcatheter stent implantation is a widely performed procedure for treating native coarctation of the aorta (CoA) in pediatric patients. However, data on mid- to long-term outcomes are limited. The aim of this study was to evaluate the mid-term safety and efficacy of transcatheter CoA stenting based on centrally adjudicated outcomes.

Background: Carbapenem-resistant strains of Pseudomonas aeruginosa (CRPA) have become a major health care concern in many countries, against which anti-infective strategies are limited and which require adequate infection control interventions. Knowing the different modes of transmission of CRPA in intensive care units (ICUs) would be helpful to adapt the means of prevention.
Methods: The aim of this retrospective case-control study was conducted between January 1, 2017 and February 28, 2022 to identify the risk factors for the acquisition of CRPA in ICUs.

Background: Six thoracic pathologists reviewed 259 lung neuroendocrine tumours (LNETs) from the lungNENomics project, with 171 of them having associated survival data. This cohort presents a unique opportunity to assess the strengths and limitations of current World Health Organization (WHO) classification criteria and to evaluate the utility of emerging markers.
Patients And Methods: Patients were diagnosed based on the 2021 WHO criteria, with atypical carcinoids (ACs) defined by the presence of focal necrosis and/or 2-10 mitoses per 2 mm.
