Purpose: Onco-hematological (OH) patients face significant cardiovascular risks due to malignancy and drug toxicity. Data are limited on the characteristics and outcomes of OH patients with cardiogenic shock (CS) in intensive care units (ICUs).
Methods: This multicenter retrospective study included 214 OH patients with CS across 22 ICUs (2010-2021).

Introduction: Management of patients with large aortic arch aneurysms who are considered high risk for frozen elephant trunk technique have been challenging, especially when they have a dilated ascending aorta (AA) that precludes total endovascular branched repair (arch BEVAR). A viable option in our armamentarium is wrapping of the AA (AW), and zone 0 Ishimaru TEVAR.
Methods: Retrospective analysis of our aortic database from 2013 to 2024 to select high-risk patients with aortic arch aneurysm that had an AW and TEVAR.

Aims: To examine the association of a remote monitoring programme (RMP) with all-cause mortality and hospital admissions for heart failure (HF) within the French healthcare system.
Methods And Results: A national-scale, real-world, propensity-weighted cohort study was conducted using the SNDS French database from August 2018 to December 2022 (NCT06312501). Patients receiving standard of care (SoC) were compared with those receiving RMP (Satelia® Cardio, NP Medical).

Background: Unexplained exertional dyspnoea without significant elevation of natriuretic peptides is common. One of the causes might be early heart failure with preserved ejection fraction (HFpEF).
Aims: This study aimed to characterize patients with exertional dyspnoea and normal/near-to-normal N-terminal pro-brain natriuretic peptide (NT-proBNP) levels with regard to early stages of HFpEF and non-cardiac causes.

Hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) is the third most common cause of cancer-related death worldwide. Treating HCC is challenging because of the poor drug effectiveness and the lack of tools to predict patient responses. To resolve these issues, we established a patient-centric spheroid model using HepG2, TWNT-1, and THP-1 co-culture, that mimics HCC phenotype.

Background: Despite French national recommendations since 2012 that all pregnant women be vaccinated against influenza, in 2021 this vaccine coverage is low - around 30 % - in France.
Objectives: To identify barriers to influenza vaccination during pregnancy by assessing how often women were offered this vaccination and how often they accepted it.
Study Design: We used data from the French national perinatal survey (ENP), which covered all births during one week in March 2021 (N = 12,614).

Diagnostic wandering and delayed management are major issues in rare diseases. Here, we report a new Next-Generation Phenotyping (NGP) model for diagnosing Coffin Siris syndrome (CSS) on clinical photographs among controls and distinguish the different genotypes. This retrospective and prospective study, conducted from 1998 to 2023, included frontal and lateral pictures of confirmed CSS.

Background: Covered stent correction for a sinus venosus atrial septal defect (SVASD) was first performed in 2009. This innovative approach was initially viewed as experimental and was reserved for highly selected patients with unusual anatomic variants. In 2016, increasing numbers of procedures began to be performed, and in several centers, it is now offered as a standard of care option alongside surgical repair.

Background: Dyspnoea is often found months and years later in the "long-covid" syndrome, impairing quality of life and further perpetuating anxiety and post-traumatic stress disorders. Physiotherapy was recommended as a treatment in long-covid, but there is still insufficient evidence on its effectiveness.
Methods: We conducted a systematic literature search on MEDLINE, PEDro, WOS, Scopus, VHL and the Cochrane Library until July 2023 (PROSPERO registration number: CRD42023427464).

Fetal death is defined as the spontaneous cessation of cardiac activity after 14 weeks gestational age (GA). Regarding prevention of fetal death in the general population, it is not recommended to counsel or prescribe rest, aspirin, vitamin A, vitamin D, or micronutrient supplementation; systematically look for nuchal cord during prenatal screening ultrasound; or perform systematic antepartum monitoring by cardiotocography for the sole purpose of reducing the risk of fetal death. It is recommended to offer vaccination against influenza in epidemic periods and against SARS-CoV-2.

Background: Despite vaccination, patients receiving anti-CD20 monoclonal antibodies (mAbs) for multiple sclerosis (MS) or neuromyelitis optica spectrum disorders (NMOSD) have an increased risk of developing severe or protracted COVID-19. The aim of this study was to describe the effect of COVID-19 convalescent plasma (CCP) in patients with MS or NMOSD exposed to anti-CD20 and infected by SARS-CoV-2.
Methods: This French national, retrospective cohort study was conducted between November 2020 and June 2023.

Background: The onset of hematological malignancies can lead to acute and critical situations. It can also result in adverse outcome despite the significant advancements made in their therapeutic management. In this context, advance care planning and, in particular, advance directives (AD) play an essential role.

Background: It is unknown which maintenance therapy is the most effective option for patients admitted for an acute severe ulcerative colitis (ASUC) episode responding to intravenous steroids.
Methods: We conducted a multicentre, parallel-group, open-label randomised controlled trial among 23 French centres in thiopurine and biologics-naïve adults admitted for ASUC responding to intravenous steroids. Eligible patients were randomly assigned to receive infliximab (IFX) and azathioprine (AZA) with a 7-day steroid tapering scheme (IFX+AZA arm) or AZA and conventional standardised steroid tapering regimen (AZA arm).

Objective: Central vein occlusion (CVO) is a significant complication in patients undergoing chronic hemodialysis, often leading to dialysis inefficacy, disabling symptoms, and, most critically, major risk of access failure. Although stenting has been proposed as a technique to maintain vascular access patency following the recanalization of occluded central veins, the data supporting its long-term efficacy remains limited. This study aims to evaluate the long-term effectiveness of stenting occluded superior vena cava (SVC) and/or brachiocephalic veins to preserve vascular access patency, ensure continued dialysis efficacy, and relieve SVC syndrome.

UMR_S 999 "Pulmonary Hypertension: Pathophysiology and Novel Therapies" (HPPIT), INSERM, Hôpital Marie Lannelongue Et Hôpital Bicêtre, Le Plessis-Robinson Et Le Kremlin-Bicêtre, France.
Targeted vasopeptide therapies have significantly advanced the management of pulmonary arterial hypertension (PAH). However, due to insufficient preclinical evidence regarding the involvement of the endothelin-1 (ET-1) pathway in chronic thromboembolic pulmonary hypertension (CTEPH) pathophysiology, the potential of ET-1 receptor antagonism in treating CTEPH remains uncertain. In this study, we investigated the role of the ET-1 pathway in CTEPH microvasculopathy using a multifaceted approach.

Objective: Abdominal aortic aneurysm (AAA) shrinkage is considered a marker for success following endovascular aortic repair (EVAR). Although maximum diameter is widely used to assess sac behavior, research indicates that changes in AAA morphology do not always affect the maximum diameter. The aim of this study was to investigate if automated AAA sac volume measurements after EVAR can add more nuanced information on sac behavior compared with maximum diameter evaluation alone.
