RT-qPCR detection of SARS-CoV-2 RNA still represents the method of reference to diagnose and monitor COVID-19. From the onset of the pandemic, however, doubts have been expressed concerning the sensitivity of this molecular diagnosis method. Droplet digital PCR (ddPCR) is a third-generation PCR technique that is particularly adapted to detecting low-abundance targets.

Purpose: The aim of the present systematic review and meta-analysis is to compare laparoscopic right colectomy (LRC) versus robotic right colectomy (RRC) using homogeneous subgroup analyses for extra-corporeal anastomosis (EA) and intra-corporeal anastomosis (IA).
Methods: MEDLINE, Scopus, and Web of Science databases were searched up to April 2020 for prospective or retrospective studies comparing LRC versus RRC on at least one short- or long-term outcome. The primary outcome was the length of hospital stay (LOS).

Frequently overlooked during the patient's treatment, psychological trauma can constitute a significant part of the addiction problem. Clinical data reveal a high incidence of post-traumatic stress disorder for which addictive behaviours may be a way of repressing the anxiety caused by the trauma. Systematic screening for trauma would help to ensure an appropriate treatment plan is put in place.

Psychologists occupy a specific position in the care process in addictology. The basic notions of care are considered from the perspective of a professional experience in an addiction care, support and prevention unit in the Paris region. These fundamental notions offer insights into how the psychologist's psychotherapeutic methods can be integrated into the care process, as well as the potential pitfalls.

Understanding the clinical presentation of severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) infection and prognosis in children is a major issue. Children often present mild symptoms, and some severe forms require paediatric intensive care, with in some cases a fatal prognosis. Our aim was to identify the epidemiological characteristics, clinical presentation, and prognosis of children with coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) hospitalized in Paris suburb hospitals.

Objective: The dual-pathway model has been proposed to explain the heterogeneity in symptoms of attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) by two independent psychological pathways based on distinct brain circuits. The authors sought to test whether the hypothesized cognitive and motivational pathways have separable neural correlates.
Methods: In a longitudinal community-based cohort of 1,963 adolescents, the neuroanatomical correlates of ADHD were identified by a voxel-wise association analysis and then validated using an independent clinical sample (99 never-medicated patients with ADHD, 56 medicated patients with ADHD, and 267 healthy control subjects).

Half of patients newly diagnosed with esophageal squamous cell cancer (ESCC) have metastatic disease (mESCC) and therefore a poor prognosis. Furthermore, half of patients with initial loco-regional disease present disease recurrence after surgery and/or chemoradiation. In mESCC, the recommended first-line treatment combines 5-fluorouracil and cisplatin, although this has not been validated by a phase III trial.

Though adolescence is a time of emerging sex differences in emotions, sex-related differences in the anatomy of the maturing brain has been under-explored over this period. The aim of this study was to investigate whether puberty and sexual differentiation in brain maturation could explain emotional differences between girls and boys during adolescence. We adapted a dedicated longitudinal pipeline to process structural and diffusion images from 335 typically developing adolescents between 14 and 16 years.

Background: A reduced presynaptic dopamine neurotransmission has long been implicated in major depressive disorder (MDD). However, molecular imaging studies that assessed the dopamine transporter (DAT) availability have led to inconsistent results, partly due to methodological considerations, and to exclusive focus on the striatum, precluding findings in extra-striatal regions.
Methods: Herein, we leveraged our database of high-resolution Positron Emission Tomography (PET) images acquired with a highly selective radiotracer, [C]PE2I, to assess striatal and extra-striatal DAT availability in eight patients treated for depression compared to twenty-four healthy controls.

Background: Older individuals receiving home assistance are at high risk for emergency visits and unplanned hospitalization. Anticipating their health difficulties could prevent these events. This study investigated the effectiveness of an at-home monitoring method using social workers' observations to predict risk for 7- and 14-day emergency department (ED) visits.

Background: Colistin resistance in Acinetobacter baumannii often results from mutational activation of the two-component system PmrAB and subsequent addition of phospho-ethanolamine (pEtN) to lipooligosaccharide by up-regulated pEtN transferase PmrC.
Objectives: To characterize mechanisms of colistin resistance independent of PmrCAB in A. baumannii.

Background: Enteroviruses are the most frequent cause of acute meningitis and are seen increasingly in sepsis-like disease and fever without source in the paediatric population. Detection of enterovirus in cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) specimens by PCR is the gold standard diagnostic test. Our aim was to assess a method of detecting enterovirus in blood specimens by PCR.

The incidence of HIV associated neurocognitive disorders (HAND) were reduced with the use of antiretroviral therapy. In case of neuropsychiatric symptoms, after elimination of all infections, auto-immune encephalitis could be evocated as a differential diagnosis. Background: RAS mutations are currently sought for in tumor samples, which takes a median of almost 3 weeks in western European countries. This creates problems in clinical situations that require urgent treatment and for inclusion in therapeutic trials that need RAS status for randomization. Analysis of circulating tumor DNA might help to shorten the time required to determine RAS mutational status before anti-epidermal growth factor receptor antibody therapy for metastatic colorectal cancer.

Dopamine function and reward processing are highly interrelated and involve common brain regions afferent to the nucleus accumbens, within the mesolimbic pathway. Although dopamine function and reward system neural activity are impaired in most psychiatric disorders, it is unknown whether alterations in the dopamine system underlie variations in reward processing across a continuum encompassing health and these disorders. We explored the relationship between dopamine function and neural activity during reward anticipation in 27 participants including healthy volunteers and psychiatric patients with schizophrenia, depression, or cocaine addiction, using functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI) and positron emission tomography (PET) multimodal imaging with a voxel-based statistical approach.

Introduction: The breast is a rare site for metastases from lung cancers. Their occurrence in patients with adenocarcinoma which has the EGFR mutation is exceptional. In this context, it is sometimes difficult to differentiate a second primary breast cancer from a breast metastasis.
