Aims: To 1) determine the prevalence and types of disrespectful maternity care witnessed by students; 2) describe students' perceptions of respectful maternity care and associated factors; and 3) investigate whether witnessing disrespectful care influences their perceptions of respectful maternity care.

Background: Limited evidence exists about nursing and midwifery students' perceptions of respectful maternity care and prevalence of disrespectful maternity care in China. Understanding students' perceptions can inform pre-registration curricula and clinical practice programs, promoting the implementation of respectful maternity care.

Impact of women's feedback on midwifery student learning: A thematic analysis of students' reflections.

Problem: Little is known about the educational impact of providing routine, online feedback from women on midwifery student learning and clinical practice.

Background: Feedback on students' clinical performance has historically been provided by lecturers and clinical supervisors. Women's feedback is not routinely collected or evaluated for impact on student learning.

Background: Abortion is a stressful life event associated with wide variability in women's perceptions and adjustment. There is scarce evidence on interventions to help women cope with abortion and achieve positive psychological health outcomes. This study tested the effect of a stress and coping theory-formed intervention (START) on depression and coping of Chinese women undergoing a first-trimester abortion.

The Use of a Brief Antenatal Lifestyle Education Intervention to Reduce Preterm Birth: A Retrospective Cohort Study.

Preterm birth is a leading cause of neonatal and child mortality and morbidity worldwide. The aim of this study was to investigate associations between attending a brief antenatal lifestyle education seminar and preterm birth, and whether education timing modifies outcomes. A retrospective cohort study was conducted in a hospital-based antenatal care center in Beijing, China, where a free, 2 h, optional, face-to-face, midwife-led group seminar on healthy lifestyle choices during pregnancy was provided.

The use of eportfolios in pre-registration health professional clinical education: An integrative review.

Introduction: ePortfolios are increasingly used in health professional clinical education. However, the nature of ePortfolios varies greatly amongst programs, as does the software, purpose, and institutional cost.

Objectives: An integrative review of the literature was conducted to determine how ePortfolios are being used in pre-registration health programs to enhance clinical learning.

Objectives: To determine the prevalence of stress and depression and associated factors among women seeking a first-trimester induced abortion in China.

Methods: A cross-sectional study was conducted in a tertiary hospital in Beijing, from April 1st to Oct 31st, 2021. Women seeking termination of an intrauterine first-trimester pregnancy were invited to participate and complete a digital self-administered questionnaire.

Feasibility of a novel framework to routinely survey women online about their continuity of care experiences with midwifery students.

Aim: This study describes a novel framework used to evaluate the feasibility of an online survey to routinely collect women's feedback about their continuity of care experiences with Bachelor of Midwifery students during the clinical practicum.

Objectives: The objective was to investigate the prevalence of mothers who experienced pain during breastfeeding in the early postnatal period and to describe associated factors.

Methods: Medical records of 987 mothers and their babies were scrutinized. Chi-square Test, McNemar's test, and relative risk with a 95% confidence interval were applied for analysis.

Background: There is growing body of evidence that suggests many midwives are unhappy and as a result are making decisions to leave the profession.

Aim: Determine the incidence of midwives indicating their intention to leave the profession and explore the reasons for this decision including what might cause midwives to be dissatisfied.

Method: Data analysed was collected as part of the Australian arm of the Work, Health and Emotional Life of Midwives (WHELM) project.

Settings-based health promotion involving multiple strategies and partners is complex, especially in disadvantaged areas. Partnership development and organizational integration are examined in the literature; however, there is more to learn from the examination of practice stakeholders' experience of intersectoral partnership processes. This case study examines stakeholder experiences of challenges in new partnership work in the context of a culturally diverse and socioeconomically disadvantaged region in Queensland, Australia.

Lost in the crowd? Using eye-tracking to investigate the effect of complexity on attribute non-attendance in discrete choice experiments.

Background: The provision of additional information is often assumed to improve consumption decisions, allowing consumers to more accurately weigh the costs and benefits of alternatives. However, increasing the complexity of decision problems may prompt changes in information processing. This is particularly relevant for experimental methods such as discrete choice experiments (DCEs) where the researcher can manipulate the complexity of the decision problem.

Breaking traditions of practice: workforce challenges in implementing disability service standards within purpose-built accommodation for younger adults.

Unlabelled: Inadequate community housing and support for adults under 65 years with complex health needs often leads to residential aged care placement. In 2006, Australian government authorities funded a range of supported housing alternatives for younger adults requiring access to 24-hour support including the Integrated Living Model (ILM). The ILM provided purpose-built accommodation for 10-20 people and represented a change in practice from traditional 24/7 nursing care toward a more holistic, individualised approach.

Background: Illness-related presenteeism (suboptimal work performance) may be a significant factor in worker productivity. Until now, there has been no generally accepted best method of measuring presenteeism across different industries and occupations. This study sought to validate the Health and Work Performance Questionnaire (HPQ)-based measure of presenteeism across occupations and industries and assess the most appropriate method for data analysis.

Background: Accurate calculation of dosages and safe administration of medications in clinical practice is an essential skill for the registered nurse. Appropriate educational preparation of student nurses is the key to ensuring they become safe practitioners in the workforce. A review of the literature on different approaches for teaching and assessing medication calculation with student nurses revealed three main factors that influenced student nurses' ability to calculate medications accurately and identify mistakes.

The development of locally-based healthcare initiatives, such as community health coalitions that focus on capacity building programs and multi-faceted responses to long-term health problems, have become an increasingly important part of the public health landscape. As a result of their complexity and the level of investment, it has become necessary to develop innovative ways to help manage these new healthcare approaches. Geographical Information Systems (GIS) have been suggested as one of the innovative approaches that will allow community health coalitions to better manage and plan their activities.
