This study aims to evaluate the prognostic significance of preoperative serum cystatin C (Cys-C) in patients with renal cell carcinoma (RCC). We analyzed clinicopathological data and follow-up information of 624 RCC patients who underwent partial or radical nephrectomy at our institution. The optimal cutoff value of Cys-C was determined using X-tile software.

Hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) is a prevalent type of liver cancer, and CD24 gene is reportedly involved in HCC progression. However, the precise regulatory mechanisms of CD24 in HCC remain unclear. In this study, we established a primary HCC mouse model and observed that CD24, induced by inactivation of the Hippo pathway, was highly expressed in HCC.

Purpose: Glypican-3 (GPC-3) expression is abnormal in the occurrence and development of hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC). To explore whether GPC-3 has diagnostic accuracy and prognostic significance of HCC, we did a systematic review and meta-analysis.
Method: PubMed, Embase, Cochrane Library, and China National Knowledge Infrastructure were searched with keywords "GPC-3" and "HCC" and their MeSH terms from inception to July 2022.
