Background: To explore the influence of leisure activities on cognitive function of middle-aged and elderly people living in hypoxia environment.
Method: Using a cross-sectional random sampling survey method, a total of people over 50 years old who have lived for more than 20 years (average altitude 3000m) in Qinghai plateau region were selected. Demography information, chronic medical history, economic and marital status, and 21 leisure activities (including entertainment, mobile phone use, games, sports, travel, social interaction and housework) were investigated.

The number of lymph nodes (LNs) dissected during surgery has become an interesting topic. Simple intuition always leads us to believe that dissecting more LNs will result in more accurate pathological staging and assurance of surgical quality. However, when the number of LNs dissected reaches a certain threshold, the patient's prognosis does not continue to improve as the number of dissected nodes increases.

Breast cancer represents one of the most prevalent malignant neoplasms affecting women, and its pathogenesis has garnered significant scholarly interest. Research indicates that the progression of breast cancer is intricately regulated by glucose metabolism. Under hypoxic conditions within the tumor microenvironment, breast cancer cells generate ATP and essential biosynthetic precursors for growth via the glycolytic pathway.

Background: To investigate changes in pulmonary artery pressure (PAP), blood indices, and myocardial microcirculation in rats returning from high altitude (HA) to moderate altitude (MA).
Methods: Forty 4-week-old male Sprague-Dawley rats were randomly divided into four groups with ten rats in each group. One group was transported to the MA area (MA-group), and the other three groups were transported to HA (HA-group-A, HA-group-B, and HA-group-C).

Introduction: Skeletal muscle dysfunction is a significant factor contributing to exercise limitation in patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). Although exercise training is often recommended to enhance patient outcomes, there continues to be ongoing debate regarding its exact effects.
Objective: The aim of this study is to evaluate the effectiveness of endurance exercise, strength training and combined exercise on cardiorespiratory fitness (including maximal oxygen uptake, maximal minute ventilation, and the 6-minute walk test), strength of lower limbs (measured by leg press), and quality of life (using the COPD Assessment Test) in patients with COPD.

This study aimed to explore advances in biomarkers related to anti-angiogenic therapy in patients with non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC), thereby enhancing treatment selection, advancing personalized and precision medicine to improve treatment outcomes and patient survival rates. This article reviews key discoveries in predictive biomarkers for anti-angiogenic therapy in NSCLC in recent years, such as (1) liquid biopsy predictive biomarkers: studies have identified activated circulating endothelial cells (aCECs) via liquid biopsy as potential predictive biomarkers for the efficacy of anti-angiogenic therapy; (2) imaging biomarkers: advanced imaging technologies, such as dynamic contrast-enhanced integrated magnetic resonance positron emission tomography (MR-PET), are used to assess tumor angiogenesis in patients with NSCLC and evaluate the clinical efficacy of anti-angiogenic drugs; (3) genetic predictive biomarkers: research has explored polymorphisms of Vascular Endothelial Growth Factor Receptor-1 (VEGFR-1) and vascular endothelial growth factor-A (VEGF-A), as well as how plasma levels of VEGF-A can predict the outcomes and prognosis of patients with non-squamous NSCLC undergoing chemotherapy combined with bevacizumab. Despite progress in identifying biomarkers related to anti-angiogenic therapy, several challenges remain, including limitations in clinical trials, heterogeneity in NSCLC, and technical hurdles.

Background: Ultrasound-guided microwave ablation (MWA) has become a popular method for treating malignant liver tumors. However, few studies have investigated its use in the treatment of hepatoalveolar echinococcosis (HAE). This study aimed to explore the effectiveness and safety of contrast-enhanced ultrasound combined with two-dimensional ultrasound-guided MWA for the treatment of HAE in difficult/dangerous locations.

Background: Currently, percutaneous transhepatic cholangial drainage (PTCD) and endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography (ERCP) are commonly employed in clinical practice to alleviate malignant obstructive jaundice (MOJ). Nevertheless, there lacks a consensus regarding the superiority of either method in terms of efficacy and safety.
Aim: To conduct a systematic evaluation of the effectiveness and safety of PTCD and ERCP in treating MOJ, and to compare the therapeutic outcomes and safety profiles of these two procedures.

Objective: Contrast-enhanced ultrasound (CEUS) and elastography are of great value in the diagnosis of cervical cancer (CC). However, there is limited research on the role of contrast-enhanced ultrasound combined with elastography in predicting concurrent chemoradiotherapy and disease progression for cervical cancer. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the feasibility of contrast-enhanced ultrasound combined with elastography and tumor prognosis.

Objective: To investigate the effects of on the phenotypic transformations of glucose metabolism, polarization types and inflammatory responses in macrophages, so as to provide insights into elucidation of echinococcosis pathogenesis.
Methods: Bone marrow cells were isolated from C57BL/6J mice at ages of 6 to 8 weeks, and induced into bone marrow-derived macrophages (BMDMs) with mouse macrophage colony-stimulating factor (M-CSF), which served as controls (BMDMs-M0). BMDMs-M0 induced M2 macrophages by interleukin-4 for 24 hours served as the IL-4 induction group, and BMDMs-M0 co-cultured with 2.

Background: Metabolic (dysfunction)-associated fatty liver disease is the most common liver disease related to various metabolic disorders. Colorectal adenomas are related to metabolic dysregulation. Despite the proposed association between non-alcoholic fatty liver disease and colorectal adenomas, the influence of metabolic-associated fatty liver disease on colorectal adenomas has yet to be investigated.

High-altitude areas are characterized by low pressure and hypoxia, which have a significant impact on various body systems. This study aimed to investigate the alterations in cardiac index and right ventricular hypertrophy index(RVHI) in rats at different altitudes.Twenty-one male Sprague-Dawley (SD) rats aged 4 weeks were randomly divided into three groups based on altitude.

Background: Obstructive sleep apnea-hypopnea syndrome (OSAHS) is a common sleep disorder. The lower atmospheric pressure and decreased oxygen levels of high-altitude areas can exacerbate the severity of OSAHS, but research into OSAHS in high-altitude areas remains limited. This study, from June 2015 to January 2020, involved 4,667 patients with suspected OSAHS and 38 healthy volunteers.

α1C-tubulin (TUBA1C) is a member of the α-tubulin family and has served as a potential biomarker in a variety of cancers in many studies. In this study, the gene expression profile of TUBA1C in The Cancer Genome Atlas (TCGA) was extracted for analysis, and the prognostic value of TUBA1C in breast cancer was comprehensively evaluated. The Wilcoxon signed-rank test, Kruskal-Wallis test, and logistic regression analysis were performed to confirm the correlations between TUBA1C expression and the clinical characteristics of breast cancer patients.
