Overview of dendritic cells and related pathways in autoimmune uveitis.

Open Life Sci

September 2024

Ophthalmology, The First Affiliated Hospital of Hunan University of Traditional Chinese Medicine, Pharmaceutical University, Changsha, 410007, Hunan, China.

Dendritic cells (DCs) play a crucial role in bridging innate and adaptive immune responses. They are widely distributed in various tissues and organs, including the eyes. In the ocular context, permanent DCs are present at the peripheral edge of the retina and the peripapillary area in an immature state.

Objective: To analyze the correlation between postoperative complications and combined deflection angle classification adduction type (CDAC-ADT) of femoral neck fractures after cannulated screw internal fixation.

Methods: The clinical data of 121 patients with CDAC-ADT femoral neck fracture admitted between January 2018 and December 2021 and met the selected criteria were retrospectively analyzed. There were 69 males and 52 females, the age ranged from 19 to 79 years (mean, 48.

Objective: To evaluate the correlation between pelvic incidence (PI) angle, hip deflection angle (HDA), combined deflection angle (CDA) and osteonecrosis of the femoral head (ONFH) after femoral neck fracture, in order to explore early predictive indicators for ONFH occurrence after femoral neck fracture.

Methods: A study was conducted on patients with femoral neck fractures who underwent cannulated screw internal fixation between December 2018 and December 2020. Among them, 208 patients met the selection criteria and were included in the study.

Anlotinib is used for the treatment of advanced non-small cell lung cancer; however, the emergence of drug resistance limits its clinical application. β-sitosterol may also be used to treat lung cancer, but there have been no studies evaluating β-sitosterol against anlotinib-resistant lung cancer. The purpose of this study was to determine the mechanism by which β-sitosterol enhances the sensitivity of lung cancer cells to anlotinib.

Article Synopsis
  • - The study utilizes various databases and analysis tools to identify biologically active components and potential targets of SNFYT (a traditional Chinese medicine) related to the treatment of ischemic stroke (IS).
  • - A total of 95 active components and 143 candidate targets were identified, leading to the construction of SNFYT-component-target and protein-protein interaction networks, which revealed four key ingredients and 14 significant targets.
  • - Enrichment analyses highlighted numerous biological processes and pathways associated with SNFYT, suggesting that its therapeutic effects on ischemic stroke likely stem from its anti-inflammatory properties targeting specific signaling pathways.

Introduction: Platycodin D (PD), a triterpenoid saponin isolated from Platycodon grandiflorum, has a well-known anti-tumor effect in multiple human cancers, including gastric cancer (GC). miR-34a plays an important role in the progression of GC. However, the relationship between miR-34a and the susceptibility of GC cells to PD is still unclear.

Bone marrow mesenchymal stem cells (BMSCs) transplantation has attracted attention for the treatment of liver cirrhosis and end-stage liver diseases. Therefore, in this study, we evaluated the effect of different methods of BMSCs transplantation in the treatment of liver cirrhosis in rats. Seventy-two male Sprague-Dawley rats were divided into 7 groups: 10 were used to extract BMSCs, 10 were used as normal group, and the remaining 52 rats were randomly divided into five groups for testing: control group, BMSCs group, BMSCs+granulocyte colony-stimulating factor (G-CSF) group, and BMSCs+Jisheng Shenqi decoction (JSSQ) group.

To investigate the relationship between the Notch signaling pathway and expression of vascular relevant factors in rabbit deep II degree burn model.
Methods: A total of 120 New Zealand white rabbits were randomly divided into a block group, a model group, and a control group. The block group was injected 2 mg/kg γ-secretase inhibitor (GSI) once a day at 1 d before the model establishment, and 1-14 d after the deep II degree burns model establishment.
