This study investigated the effects of resin composites (RCs) containing surface pre-reacted glass ionomer (S-PRG) filler on the dentin microtensile bond strength (μTBS) of HEMA-free and HEMA-containing universal adhesives (UAs). Water sorption (WS) and solubility (SL), degree of conversion (DC), and ion release were measured. The UAs BeautiBond Xtreme (BBX; 0% HEMA), Modified Adhesive-1 (E-BBX1; 5% HEMA), Modified Adhesive-2 (E-BBX2; 10% HEMA), and two 2-step self-etch adhesives (2-SEAs): FL-BOND II (FBII; with S-PRG filler) and silica-containing adhesive (E-FBII) were used.

In cases with a highly positioned mucogingival junction, an apically positioned flap in combination with palatal-mucosa grafting is commonly performed to deepen the sulcus. However, we believe that immobilizing the mucosa is more important than merely deepening it; thus, we developed a simple method based on the characteristics of its components. Elastic fiber should be replaced by collagen fiber.

Background: This study aimed to evaluate the color-matching and light transmission properties of a newly developed aesthetic flowable resin composite, OCFB-001.
Methods: Rubber molds containing cylindrical cavities were filled with Estelite Sigma Quick, and 40 resin composite (CR) molds with simulated Class I cavities were prepared in shades A1, A2, A3, and A4, resulting in a total of 160 samples. Following bonding procedures, four different flowable resin composites ( = 10) were introduced into the cavities.

This in vitro study aimed to investigate whether color differences in the stained cavity floor simulating recurrent caries can be detected using various restored resin composites. Artificial teeth were made with conventional resin composite (Estellite Sigma Quick A3; ET), and class V cavities were prepared. To simulate the color of caries, a dot was marked in the center of the cavity floor using four different magic pens.

However, postoperative bone formation using a graft material comprising a mixture of beta-tricalcium phosphate (β-TCP) and chin bone has been previously evaluated only 2-dimensionally, using plain radiographic images. In this study, the authors aimed to retrospectively and 3-dimensionally assess bone formation following sABG in patients with an alveolar cleft, using a mixture of β-TCP and chin bone.

Parathyroid hormone (PTH) is thought to induce remodeling-based bone formation by promoting osteoclastic activity, a process known as cellular coupling. Our research has shown that the frequency of PTH administration affects trabecular number and thickness. High-frequency PTH administration induced remodeling-based bone formation, while less frequent administration induced both remodeling-based and modeling-based bone formation.

Aim: To assess the regulation of sodium hypochlorite (NaOCl) solutions for endodontic usage in some of the world's main dental markets, in view of the European Union's recent move to classify antimicrobial root canal irrigants as high-risk devices under their Medical Device Regulation (MDR).
Methodology: The authors consulted legal texts available online and communicated with local health authorities wherever necessary to assess into which medical device category NaOCl solutions intended for endodontic application were subsumed. Furthermore, it was investigated whether there were sources outside the dental market to obtain NaOCl solutions for root canal treatments.

Understanding the intricate cellular interactions involved in bone restoration is crucial for developing effective strategies to promote bone healing and mitigate conditions such as osteoporosis and fractures. Here, we provide compelling evidence supporting the anabolic effects of a pharmacological Pyk2 inhibitor (Pyk2-Inh) in promoting bone restoration. In vitro, Pyk2 signaling inhibition markedly enhances alkaline phosphatase (ALP) activity, a hallmark of osteoblast differentiation, through activation of canonical Wnt/β-catenin signaling.

The striatum consists of two anatomically and neurochemically distinct compartments, striosomes and the matrix, which receive dopaminergic inputs from the midbrain and exhibit distinct dopamine release dynamics in acute brain slices. Striosomes comprise approximately 15 % of the striatum by volume and are distributed mosaically. Therefore, it is difficult to selectively record dopamine dynamics in striosomes using traditional neurochemical measurements in behaving animals, and it is unclear whether distinct dynamics play a role in associative learning.
