The progression of gallbladder inflammatory lesions to invasive cancer remains poorly understood, necessitating research on biomarkers involved in this transition. This study aims to identify and validate proteins associated with this progression, offering insights into potential diagnostic biomarkers for gallbladder cancer (GBC). Label-free liquid chromatography-assisted tandem mass spectrometry (LC-MS/MS) proteomics was performed on samples from ten cases each of GBC and inflammatory lesions, with technical duplicates.

Introduction: The present inquiry seeks to investigate whether the current regimens of QSEs (Quadriceps-Strengthening Exercises) aggravate the disease while mitigating symptoms.
Materials And Methods: A comparative study was conducted on 32 patients with medial compartment osteoarthritis of knees. While the neutral group of 16 patients was constituted of those with an anatomical-lateral-femoro-tibial-angle (aFTA) 176-180º, varus group comprised an equal number of patients with an aFTA >180º.

Background: The first step towards creating a sound educational environment and healthcare in a medical institute is employing medical teachers who maintain ethical behavior in their professional practice. A method where bias and subjectivity can be minimized is by making the recruitment process objective.
Material And Methods: The recruitment started as an offline process and was soon converted into an online form incorporating parameters for scoring.

Background: Variceal bleeding is an important cause of mortality in patients with chronic liver disease (CLD). The gold standard for detection and grading of oesophageal varices (EV) is upper gastrointestinal endoscopy. However, it is expensive, time-consuming and invasive.

Paediatric orbital lesions encompass a wide spectrum of benign and malignant entities that can arise from different components of the orbit. Clinical symptoms and signs are often nonspecific, and imaging plays a crucial role in the diagnosis and management. Ultrasonography has a limited role and radiation is a major concern with CT especially in the paediatric population.

This study investigated and compared the wound healing kinetics of pigmented (PG) and non-pigmented (NP) skin in guinea pigs, focusing on histological and transcriptional changes. Full-thickness wounds created on PG and NP skin were evaluated at various time points post-injury. Fontana-Masson staining and ultrastructural analysis suggested the presence of melanin and melanosomes in PG skin, which coincided with an upregulation of melanogenic genes cKIT, TYR, and DCT.

Background Laparoscopic cholecystectomy (LC) has increasingly been accepted as the procedure of choice for the treatment of acute cholecystitis (AC). However, the timing of this procedure in the management of AC remains controversial. Hence this study was conducted to assess the feasibility of early laparoscopic cholecystectomy in acute cholecystitis.

Background And Aims: An efficient neonatal airway management is peculiarly challenging even in the most experienced hands. Considering the recent interest in assessing the performance of various video-laryngoscopes (VL) in pediatric cohort, the prospective randomized study was contemplated to stage a comparative evaluation of C-MAC with Miller laryngoscope for neonatal endotracheal intubation.
Material And Methods: 150 neonates were randomized to undergo intubation with either the C-MAC VL ( = 75) or the Miller laryngoscope ( = 75) performed by an experienced anesthesiologist in a tertiary care perioperative setting.

Over the past decade, percutaneous left ventricular assist devices (pLVAD), such as the Impella microaxial flow pump (Abiomed), have been increasingly used to provide haemodynamic support during complex and high-risk revascularisation procedures to reduce the risk of intraprocedural haemodynamic compromise and to facilitate complete and optimal revascularisation. A global consensus on patient selection for the use of pLVADs, however, is currently lacking. Access to these devices is different across the world, thus, individual health care environments need to create and refine patient selection paradigms to optimise the use of these devices.

The national lockdown in India has (thus far) prevented a surge of Covid-19 cases. Due to crowded living conditions and poor social security, infectious spread may be difficult to contain and mitigate. India's healthcare system must respond to impending Covid-19 cases, as well as chronic, non-communicable diseases.

Background/aims: Alterations in Parkin (PRKN) have been described in many cancers; however, the molecular mechanism that contributes to loss of Parkin expression in colorectal cancer (CRC) remains unclear. The aim of this study was to investigate the involvement of PRKN mutation and loss of heterozygosity (LOH) in loss of Parkin expression. To understand the role of PRKN in cancer progression, we also evaluated the association of Parkin expression with clinicopathological parameters in North Indian population.
