The inverse Rayleigh distribution finds applications in many lifetime studies, but has not enough overall flexibility to model lifetime phenomena where moderately right-skewed or near symmetrical data are observed. This paper proposes a solution by introducing a new two-parameter extension of this distribution through the use of the half-logistic transformation. The first contribution is theoretical: we provide a comprehensive account of its mathematical properties, specifically stochastic ordering results, a general linear representation for the exponentiated probability density function, raw/inverted moments, incomplete moments, skewness, kurtosis, and entropy measures.

As a matter of fact, the statistical literature lacks of general family of distributions based on the truncated Cauchy distribution. In this paper, such a family is proposed, called the truncated Cauchy power-G family. It stands out for the originality of the involved functions, its overall simplicity and its desirable properties for modelling purposes.

As lockdown eases, economic activities resume in Pakistan. If the country continues to follow business-as-usual (BAU) then it is anticipated that carbon output could surge past pre-COVID-19 levels - that means more disasters in future. Thus, it is an unprecedented opportunity to shift from BAU and achieve carbon-neutral and nature-positive economic recovery - green economic recovery (GER).

This study was designed to investigate the impact of meteorological indicators (temperature, rainfall, and humidity) on total COVID-19 cases in Pakistan, its provinces, and administrative units from March 10, 2020, to August 25, 2020. The correlation analysis showed that COVID-19 cases and temperature showed a positive correlation. It implies that the increase in COVID-19 cases was reported due to an increase in the temperature in Pakistan, its provinces, and administrative units.

Diabetes mellitus is a growing public health concern and an increasing interest has been raised to search for new compounds with therapeutic effects on β-cells. There are chronic insulin resistance and loss of β-cell mass in the case of type-2 diabetes which covers about 90% of total diabetic patients. This work aims to critically review the protective and regenerative effects of various antidiabetic natural products on pancreatic β-cells.

A combination of chemotherapy with hyperthermia can produce remarkable success in treating advanced cancers. For this purpose, magnetite (FeO)-doped mesoporous bioactive glass nanoparticles (FeO-MBG NPs) were synthesized by the sol-gel method. FeO-MBG NPs were found to possess spherical morphology with a size of approximately 50 ± 10 nm and a uniform pore size of 9 nm.

A road traffic accident is a burning issue because the cost of road accidents is about 2% of gross domestic product in Pakistan. This paper explores the relationship between health force density index, temperature, rainfall, road lengths, and road traffic fatalities in Pakistan from 1985 to 2016. The stationarity was determined with the help of four-unit root tests.

A chitosan Schiff base with an aromatic aldehyde was synthesized and characterized by FTIR and NMR spectroscopies. Furthermore, the degree of substitution was calculated based on the ratios of the area of the proton of the imine (A ) and the area of the peak of the proton of the pyranose ring (A ). The antimicrobial activities were determined against bacterial and fungal strains, as well as multiple drug-resistant (MDR) bacteria.

This study explored the long-run association among greenhouse gases (GHGs), financial development, forest area, improved sanitation, renewable energy, urbanization, and trade in 24 lower middle-income countries from Asia, Europe, Africa, and America (South and North) by using panel data from 1990 to 2015. Granger causality was tested by Toda and Yamamoto approach. The bi-directional causality was established among urbanization and GHGs (Asia), financial development and forest (Asia), energy use and renewable energy (Asia), renewable energy and forest (Asia), improved sanitation and forest (Asia, Africa, America), urbanization and forest (Asia), and improved sanitation and financial development (Europe).
