Berberine, an isoquinoline alkaloid derived from various medicinal plants, emerges as a potential therapeutic agent against diverse human diseases. It has particularly shown notable anticancer efficacy against breast, colorectal, lung, prostate, and liver cancer. Berberine results in inhibition of cancer cell proliferation, induction of apoptosis, and suppressing angiogenesis, positioning it as a versatile, multitargeted therapeutic tool against cancer.

Ferrocene is an accidentally discovered organometallic compound that serves as a crucial redox probe in investigating electrochemical charge transfer dynamics. Besides solution phase studies, ferrocene derivatives are well-explored in molecular thin films, including self-assembled monolayers on various electrodes for understanding on-surface redox behavior, molecular electronics, and charge storage applications. The release of organic pollutants and dyes into the environment by industries has had profound and harmful effects on both humans and ecosystems. Graphene oxide (GO) and its reduced form have been investigated for their effectiveness in removing pollutant dyes. GO nano-powder was synthesized using an improved version of Hummer's method and subsequently thermally reduced at various temperatures, including 125, 150, 175, and 200 °C, under vacuum conditions.

The aim of the current study was to assess the cadmium (Cd) phytoremediation potential of L. that was exposed to 50, 100, and 150 mg/kg of cadmium for 15, 30, and 60 days with application of EDTA (Ethylenediaminetetraacetic acid) in the soil and IAA (indole acetic acid) as a foliar spray. The results indicated that the concentration, duration of exposure, and amount of Cd affect the phytoremediation potential.
