Human interference is rising day by day which adds more problems to conserve valuable forest resources. Vehicular exhausts are the main source of heavy metals that have detrimental impacts on the vegetation. The research provides comprehension about the increase in vehicular traffic along the Pahalgam highway, which is disturbing the balance of the forest ecosystem.

This paper reports the facile one-pot synthesis of glycidol via the transesterification of glycerol with dimethyl carbonate using KNO/AlO nanoparticles as supporting catalysts. KNO/AlO nanoparticles were prepared by the impregnation method. XRD and FT-IR analyses indicated an interaction between KNO and AlO that enabled the decomposition of KNO during the process and resulted in the formation of KAlO, the Al-O-K group, and KO.

The emergence of drug-resistant strains has encouraged several studies on natural products with antifungal activity and low toxicity. In this study, the antifungal effect of methanolic root extract of Juglans regia (JRE) was investigated against 9 strains of Candida (one reference and 8 clinical strains) through MIC and spot assays. To gain insight into the mechanism of antifungal action, we carried out confocal scanning laser microscopy (CLSM), transmission electron microscopy (TEM), and then examined the effect of JRE on hydrolytic enzyme secretion.
