Prospective hospital-based cohort studies of Respiratory Syncytial Virus (RSV) infections in infants under one year during and after the SARS-CoV-2 pandemic in Japan.

Objectives: In Japan, population-based epidemiological data on respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) infections are limited. To elucidate the epidemiology of RSV before the introduction of new prophylactic drugs, we conducted a population-based study during and after the SARS-CoV-2 pandemic.

Methods: This study was performed in four hospitals in Chiba City and three hospitals in Ichihara City.

CTLA-4 polymorphisms in Thai patients with rheumatoid arthritis, systemic lupus erythematosus, and systemic sclerosis.

Aims: Studies on polymorphisms of the cytotoxic T lymphocytes associated antigen-4 (CTLA-4) genes in rheumatic disease patients are limited in Southeast Asia. This pilot study aimed to determine CTLA-4 polymorphisms in Thai patients with rheumatoid arthritis (RA), systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) and systemic sclerosis (SSc), and correlate them with serology.

Method: One-hundred RA, 70 SLE and 50 SSc patients, and 99 healthy controls (HCs) were included in this study.

The kidney of the Nodularia freshwater mussel has a larger filtration-size and counter-current system with improved water excretion compared with the seawater mussel Mytilus.

Histological studies and magnetic resonance imaging were employed to analyze the kidney structure and function of the freshwater mussel, Nodularia douglasiae. The Nodularia kidney consists of proximal, intermediate and distal tubules. The epithelia of the renal tubules were composed of a single layer of cuboidal cells.

Successful Percutaneous Closure of a Large Saphenous Vein Graft Aneurysm With Vascular Plug 4, Optimal Percutaneous Device Selection.

Saphenous vein graft (SVG) aneurysm is one of the late unusual complications of coronary artery bypass grafting (CABG). We report a case of a very large SVG aneurysm successfully treated with a vascular plug 4. A 94-year-old man was referred to our hospital for an expanding aortic aneurysm.
