People with schizophrenia have impairments in emotion recognition along with other social cognitive deficits. In the current study, we aimed to investigate the immediate benefits of ECT on facial emotion recognition ability. Thirty-two treatment resistant patients with schizophrenia who have been indicated for ECT enrolled in the study.

Initial experience with delivery of palliative care toterminal cancer patients.

Background/aim: We investigated the symptoms and needs of terminal cancer patients in a region where formal palliative care is limited. Here we present the demographic features and symptoms of end-stage cancer patients living in a city in northern Turkey.

Materials And Methods: The study was conducted at Gaziosmanpaşa University (Tokat, Turkey), in 2011 and 2012.

Re-emergence of genotype G9 during a five-and-a-half-year period in Turkish children with rotavirus diarrhea.

This study was done to understand the dynamics of rotavirus genotype distribution in Turkish children. Samples were collected from January 2006 through August 2011 from children at a hospital in Ankara. Rotavirus was detected in 28 % (241/889) of the samples.

Clinical and polysomnographic features of patients with Restless Legs Syndrome.

Objective: To reveal clinical and polysomnographic features in patients treated for restless leg syndrome, and to examine the compatibility of sleep data and clinical features.

Methods: The study was conducted at the Department of Neurology, Ankara Numune Training and Education Hospital, Ankara, Turkey, and comprised patients who presented to the outpatient clinic between January and July 2014 who were diagnosed with restless leg syndrome based on the International RestIess Leg Syndrome Study Group criteria. Patients underwent polysomnography test in spontaneous sleep in a single room.

Management of Anesthesia during Lung Transplantations in a Single Turkish Center.

A Case of Eosinophilic Gastroenteritis with Ascites.

Eosinophilic gastroenteritis is a rare disorder of unknown cause characterized by focal or diffuse eosinophilic infiltration of gastrointestinal tract, especially the stomach and duodenum. Its clinical presentation depends on which segment of gastrointestinal tract is affected and on the depth of eosinophilic infiltration in the affected segment. Reproductive outcomes following hysteroscopic resection of endometrial polyps of different location, number and size in patients with infertility.

We aimed to assess the pregnancy rates after hysteroscopic polypectomy in infertility patients with endometrial polyps and to compare pregnancy rates among subgroups with polyps of different location, size and number. All patients who underwent hysteroscopic evaluation which revealed endometrial polyps were included. Patients with any intrauterine pathology other than polyp and those undergoing frozen embryo transfer (ET) cycles were excluded.
