Magnetic resonance imaging findings of mixed neuronal-glial tumors with pathologic correlation: a review.

Mixed neuronal-glial tumors are rare, and MRI diagnosis of them presents a challenge. In this review, we discuss the MRI findings of ganglioglioma, anaplastic ganglioglioma, desmoplastic infantile ganglioglioma, papillary glioneuronal tumor, rosette-forming glioneuronal tumor, and primary diffuse leptomeningeal glioneuronal tumor with clinicopathologic correlation. There is overlap of imaging features both with each other and some other tumors, which complicates diagnosis.

The role of electrophysiological examination in the diagnosis of carpal tunnel syndrome: Analysis of 2516 patients.

Objective: The aim of the present study was to assess the correlation between patient history, physical examination, and electrophysiological method of assessment in patients with clinical suspicion of carpal tunnel syndrome (CTS).

Patients And Methods: Results of electrophysiological examinations performed from 2009 to 2016 on 3151 hands of 2516 patients who had symptoms that clinically suggested CTS were examined retrospectively. Patients were assessed in terms of age, gender, direction of nerve compression, and presence and degree of CTS as determined electrophysiologically.

Platelet-rich plasma as an additional therapeutic option for infected wounds with multi-drug resistant bacteria: in vitro antibacterial activity study.

Purpose: Infected wounds, such as diabetic foot infections, are mostly polymicrobial and microorganisms have high resistance rates to antimicrobials. Infected wounds in diabetic patients have high cost, morbidity, and mortality rates. Based on these facts, there is a need for supportive localized treatment options such as platelet-rich plasma (PRP) implementations.

Multidetector Computed Tomography Findings of Splenic Artery Aneurysms Associated With Liver Involvement in Wilson's Disease.

Background: Patients in intensive care units (ICUs) are often physically unable to communicate with their physicians. Thus, the sharing of information about the on-going treatment of the patients in ICUs is directly related to the communication attitudes governing a patient's relatives and the physician. This study aims to analyze the attitudes displayed by the relatives of patients and the physician with the purpose of determining the communication between the two parties.

Methods: This prospective study included 14 patients with hallux rigidus and focal osteochondral lesions of the first MTP joint who underwent surgery in 2014 and were followed on a regular basis thereafter.

Background: Endocan is a recently introduced marker of endothelial dysfunction and is also associated with inflammation and atherosclerosis. Perisylvian GABA levels in schizophrenia and bipolar disorder.

The aim of this study is to measure GABA levels of perisylvian cortices in schizophrenia and bipolar disorder patients, using proton magnetic resonance spectroscopy (H-MRS). Patients with schizophrenia (n=25), bipolar I disorder (BD-I; n=28) and bipolar II disorder (BD-II; n=20) were compared with healthy controls (n=30). H-MRS data was acquired using a Siemens 3T whole body scanner to quantify right and left perisylvian structures' (including superior temporal lobes) GABA levels.

Optimum Temperature of Oxygen for Transpulmonary Hypothermia with Cooled Oxygen Inhalation: A Preliminary Study in a Rat Model.

Cooled oxygen inhalation was hypothesized as a novel hypothermia technique in a previous study. In the current study, we aimed to determine the optimal temperature of oxygen for this method. This is a prospective, randomized, controlled, examiner-blinded experimental study conducted with 45 healthy, adult, Wistar Hannover male rats.
