Such cases of concomitant presentation of OSMF and OSCC have not yet been defined, leading to ambiguity regarding the evaluation.

A retrospective analysis of complications associated with tooth-borne anterior maxillary distraction for managing cleft maxillary hypoplasia: A 12-year experience.

Purpose: To evaluate the intra- and post-operative complications of tooth-borne anterior maxillary distraction in management of cleft maxillary hypoplasia over a 12-year period, and to establish whether the procedure involves a learning curve.

Materials And Methods: All patients with cleft maxillary hypoplasia satisfying the inclusion and exclusion criteria and undergoing anterior maxillary distraction with a tooth-borne palatal distractor between June 2007 to June 2018 were retrospectively studied by retrieving their individual medical records, which included radiographic (lateral cephalogram analysis at three different intervals) and speech assessment records. The presence of intra- and post-operative complications developing in this study period was noted.

Segmental Osteotomy, Implants, and Restorative Procedures for the Treatment of an Extruded Maxillary Alveolar Segment.

This case report highlights a case of full-mouth rehabilitation in a 38-year-old female. Extrusion of the right posterior maxillary alveolar segment had resulted due to the presence of an opposing edentulous mandibular span, which had led to complete absence of restorative space in the lower arch. Maxillary posterior segmental osteotomy was carried out to obtain adequate space for placing an implant-supported prosthesis in the opposing edentulous mandibular span.

This case report highlights the incorporation of a tenon-mortise type of nonrigid connector between two adjacent pontics in a fixed functional space maintainer, to allow limited passive eruption and alignment of young permanent teeth. A 13-year-old male patient had lost his lower second premolar and first molar on the right side, secondary to the surgical removal of an odontogenic keratocyst a year ago. A space maintainer had to be placed until implants, or a fixed partial denture could be placed, after the completion of his growth.

Involvement of the temporomandibular joint is not frequently observed in CDSO. We report a unique case of a 37-year-old male with cyclic episodes of insidious swelling and progressive trismus for the past 4 years.

The aim of this study is to report a rare case of bilateral cemental tear in a completely calcified tooth with successful dental management. A 60-year-old male reported with pain in the upper right central incisor. Radiographic examination revealed complete calcific obliteration of the root canal, inflammatory root resorption of apical third, and bilateral cemental tear and traumatic occlusion.

Background: Separation of the epithelial lining from the underlying connective tissue wall has been a frequently observed and unique feature in odontogenic keratocysts (OKC), but not in other odontogenic cysts nor neoplasms. No study on OKC has been reported evaluating the role of type VII Collagen, the anchoring fibrils, which function in stabilising the epithelial structure. The purpose of this study was to assess the role of type VII collagen in the fragility of the epithelium leading to a high recurrence rate in OKCs.
