Background: Cardiovascular diseases (CVD), notably coronary artery disease (CAD) and coronary heart disease (CHD), are predominant contributors to global morbidity and mortality. Financial stress is recognized as a non-traditional risk factor for CVD. The objective of this study is to conduct a systematic review and meta-analysis on the association between financial stress and the incidence of major cardiac outcomes.

Ventricular arrhythmias, particularly ventricular tachycardia, are ubiquitously linked to 300,000 deaths annually. However, the current interventional procedure-the cardiac ablation-predict only short-term responses to treatment as the heart constantly remodels itself post-arrhythmia. To assist in the design of computational methods which focuses on long-term arrhythmia prediction, this review postulates three interdependent prospectives.

Article Synopsis
  • The study investigates the effectiveness of four plagiarism detection tools (iThenticate, Grammarly, Small SEO Tools, and DupliChecker) on AI-generated articles due to rising plagiarism incidents in research.
  • A total of 100 AI-generated articles were analyzed using these tools, revealing significant differences in Overall Similarity Index (OSI), with Grammarly performing the best.
  • Factors such as article length and linguistic complexity influenced detection outcomes, highlighting the importance of choosing the right tool for effective plagiarism detection.

This index meta-analysis estimated the pooled prevalence of human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) among individuals with monkeypox (mpox) globally. We searched seven databases: PubMed, Scopus, Web of Science, EMBASE, ProQuest, EBSCOHost, and Cochrane, for human studies published in English till 4 January 2023, as per International Prospective Register of Systematic Reviews (PROSPERO) registration protocol (CRD42022383275). A random effects regression model was used to estimate the pooled prevalence owing to high heterogeneity.

Article Synopsis
  • A systematic review and meta-analysis were conducted to examine the prevalence of kidney problems, specifically acute kidney injury (AKI), among patients infected with the dengue virus (DENV), addressing a lack of existing research on this relationship.
  • The analysis included 37 studies with a total of 21,764 participants, revealing an overall AKI prevalence of 8% in dengue patients, though there was significant variability in the findings across the studies.
  • The results highlight the importance of regular kidney assessments for dengue patients to identify AKI early and reduce hospitalization risks, while further research is needed to better understand the connection between dengue infection and kidney health.

Monkeypox (mpox) is a significant health concern affecting children and adolescents globally. This systematic review and meta-analysis aims to synthesise the available evidence on the proportion of children and adolescents affected by the mpox virus. A comprehensive search was conducted in seven electronic databases (PubMed, Scopus, Web of Science, EMBASE, ProQuest, EBSCOHost, and Cochrane) to identify the original reports on mpox cases in children and adolescents till 15 January 2023.

Article Synopsis
  • Monkeypox (mpox) is a public health emergency with limited understanding of how contagious it is from skin viral loads, prompting a study to estimate these loads globally.
  • The researchers conducted a systematic review and meta-analysis, screening 331 articles and ultimately including nine that examined skin viral loads in confirmed mpox cases.
  • The findings revealed a pooled cutaneous mpox viral load indicating high infectivity risk from skin lesions, suggesting that skin viral loads could significantly contribute to the rapid spread of the disease during current outbreaks and inform health policy measures.
