Purpose: This is a prospective study to investigate the clinical outcomes of using noncompliant balloons in lower limb angioplasty for chronic limb threatening ischemia (CLTI).
Materials And Methods: This is a prospective single-center cohort study performed at a local tertiary hospital in Singapore. Consecutive patients who underwent lower limb angioplasty for CLTI using a noncompliant balloon catheter were enrolled if they were aged 40 years and above, presented with CLTI Rutherford grade 4 to 6, and had TASC C or D lesions in the lower limb vessels that were at least 100mm in length.

Peripheral artery disease (PAD) affects more than 100 million people globally. Most PAD studies have been performed among predominantly White populations-less is known about other ethnicities. The aim of this cross-sectional study was to determine the prevalence and risk factors of PAD in a high-risk Asian population with ischaemic stroke (IS), myocardial infarction, unstable angina (CVD), or diabetes mellitus (DM).

Purpose: The aim of PRISTINE was to evaluate the 6 and 12 months safety and efficacy of the Selution Sustained Limus Release (SLR)™ sirolimus-coated balloon for treatment of complex lower limb occlusive lesions (TASC II C & D) in patients with chronic limb threatening ischemia (CLTI) from Singapore.
Methods: PRISTINE was a prospective, non-randomized, single arm, observational, multi-investigator, single-center clinical study. Complication-free survival at 30 days was the safety clinical endpoint.

Background: There is an unmet need for precise biomarkers for early non-invasive breast cancer detection. Here, we aimed to identify blood-based DNA methylation biomarkers that are associated with breast cancer.
Methods: DNA methylation profiling was performed for 524 Asian Chinese individuals, comprising 256 breast cancer patients and 268 age-matched healthy controls, using the Infinium MethylationEPIC array.

Introduction: Medium-term clinical outcome data are lacking for cyanoacrylate glue (CAG) ablation for symptomatic varicose veins, especially from the Asian population.
Objectives: Aim was to determine the 3-year symptomatic relief gained from using the VenaSeal™ device to close refluxing truncal veins from the Singaporean ASVS prospective registry.
Methods: The revised Venous Clinical Severity Score (rVCSS) and three quality of life (QoL) questionnaires were completed to assess clinical improvement in venous disease symptoms along with a dedicated patient satisfaction survey.
CIED infections are a dreaded complication associated with significant morbidity and mortality and the mainstay of treatment has traditionally been extraction. A recent cohort study suggested that continuous, in situ-targeted, ultrahigh concentrations of antibiotics (CITA) delivered into the CIED pocket may be a viable alternative to extraction in selected cases. We highlight two cases of device perforation which were successfully treated with this technique.

Context: While guidelines have been formulated for the management of primary aldosteronism (PA), following these recommendations may be challenging in developing countries with limited health care access.
Objective: We aimed to assess the availability and affordability of health care resources for managing PA in the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) region, which includes low-middle-income countries.
Methods: We instituted a questionnaire-based survey to specialists managing PA, assessing the availability and affordability of investigations and treatment.

Background: Plain old balloon angioplasty has been the mainstay of treatment for arteriovenous fistula (AVF) stenoses. Recent studies suggest that drug coated balloons (DCB) may significantly reduce re-intervention rates on native and recurrent lesions. The Passeo-18 Lux DCB (Biotronik AG, Buelach, Switzerland) is packaged with a 3.

This case study examines the effectiveness of using negative pressure wound therapy (NPWT) in the management of a hard-to-heal (chronic) wound with exposed ankle bone to reduce associated wound exudate and promote production of granulation tissue. A 60-year-old male patient who was able to attend wound follow-up diligently twice weekly for eight weeks, and weekly thereafter, was selected from a private hospital to take part. During each dressing change, the wound was cleansed with superoxidised cleansing solution, and minimal sharp debridement was performed.

Subtalar instability is a confusing yet important condition in patients with lateral ankle instability. The author will explore subtalar kinematics, and how they are closely related to the joint stability of the subtalar joint, both with respect to its intrinsic ligaments and its extrinsic ligaments. As subtalar instability is difficult to diagnose, this article will provide readers with a better understanding of its clinical presentation.

Introduction: There has been a rapid evolution in the treatment strategies for metastatic castration-resistant prostate cancer (mCRPC) following the identification of targetable mutations, making genetic testing essential for patient selection. Although several international guidelines recommend genetic testing for patients with mCRPC, there is a lack of locally endorsed clinical practice guidelines in Singapore.
Method: A multidisciplinary specialist panel with representation from medical and radiation oncology, urology, pathology, interventional radiology, and medical genetics discussed the challenges associated with patient selection, genetic counselling and sample processing in mCRPC.

Background: For the majority of individuals with early-onset or familial breast cancer referred for genetic testing, the genetic basis of their familial breast cancer remains unexplained. To identify novel germline variants associated with breast cancer predisposition, whole-exome sequencing (WES) was performed.
Methods: WES on 290 BRCA1/BRCA2-negative Singaporeans with early-onset breast cancer and/or a family history of breast cancer was done.
