Despite the precarious state of marine turtles as a highly endangered species, our understanding of their diseases remains limited. This case report presents a detailed pathological investigation of spirorchiidiasis, a blood fluke infection that poses a substantial threat to marine turtles. This retrospective study examined three cases of spirorchiid-infected sea turtles, specifically, green sea turtles stranded on Jeju Island, South Korea.

In this case report, we present a rare occurrence of a narrow-ridged finless porpoise (), discovered on the coast of Jeju Island, Republic of Korea, that was afflicted with adhesive bowel obstruction (ABO), a life-threatening condition that has scarcely been reported in cetaceans. Diagnosis of ABO was confirmed via radiological and clinical assessments. Post-mortem computed tomography and necropsy revealed ABO between two loops of the jejunum at the L8 level.

Introduction: Unicompartmental knee arthroplasty (UKA) is an effective surgical treatment for medial compartment arthritis of the knee, yet surgical outcomes are directly related to surgical execution. Robotic arm-assisted surgery aims to address these difficulties by allowing for detailed preoperative planning, real-time intraoperative assessment and haptic-controlled bone removal. This study aimed to compare the clinical and radiological outcomes between conventional manual mobile bearing and robot arm-assisted fixed bearing medial UKA in our local population.

The present case report aims to outline the post-mortem findings of an East Asian finless porpoise with upper aerodigestive tract obstruction using different post-mortem computed tomography (PMCT) visualization techniques and discusses the potential cause of death of this individual. A dead-stranded adult male East Asian finless porpoise was recovered from the Northern coast of Jeju Island, Republic of Korea. The carcass was frozen in Jeju National University within 2 h upon first reported.

Background: The strategy of dual blockade of TGF-β and PD-L1 pathways has not been previously tested in platinum-refractory recurrent or metastatic nasopharyngeal cancer (R/M NPC) patients. This study aimed to evaluate the safety and efficacy of bintrafusp alfa in refractory R/M NPC patients.
Methods: In this single-arm, single-centre phase II clinical trial, 38 histologically confirmed R/M NPC patients were enrolled and administered with bintrafusp alfa every 2 weeks.

Skeletal dysplasias are a group of diseases characterized by bone and joint abnormalities, which can be detected during prenatal ultrasound. Next-generation sequencing has rapidly revolutionized molecular diagnostic approaches in fetuses with structural anomalies. This review studies the additional diagnostic yield of prenatal exome sequencing in fetuses with prenatal sonographic features of skeletal dysplasias.

Key Clinical Message: When faced with a slowly enlarging firm mass in the parotid gland accompanied by a histological picture of unusual sclerosis with abundant Langerhans cells and eosinophilic infiltrates, sclerosing mucoepidermoid carcinoma with eosinophilia should be considered as one of the differential diagnoses. Further studies are warranted for accurate diagnosis and appropriate treatment.
Abstract: Sclerosing mucoepidermoid carcinoma of the salivary gland with eosinophilia is a rare tumor mostly negative for the MAML2 rearrangement commonly seen in salivary mucoepidermoid carcinoma.

This study aims to investigate the association of pre-treatment multi-phasic MR-based radiomics and dosimetric features with treatment response to a novel sequential trans-arterial chemoembolization (TACE) plus stereotactic body radiotherapy (SBRT) plus immunotherapy regimen in unresectable Hepatocellular Carcinoma (HCC) sub-population. Twenty-six patients with unresectable HCC were retrospectively analyzed. Radiomic features were extracted from 42 lesions on arterial phase (AP) and portal-venous phase (PVP) MR images.

We presented a case of diffuse-type tenosynovial giant cell tumour (DTSGCT) of foot masquerading as Langerhans cell histiocytosis. Preliminary diagnosis by needle biopsy was difficult due to the major involvement of bones and the overshadowing effect of the accompanying Langerhans cells. The complete curettage specimen with relevant immunohistochemistry and molecular tests made the final diagnosis of DTSGCT possible.

Conventionally, two- and three- dimensional color Doppler ultrasonography are used to examine the placental vascularization, but there are limitations in the examinations. In this report, spatiotemporal image correlation (STIC) volume acquisition in high-definition flow, displayed in glass-body mode was used to study the placental vascularization in eight pregnancies. At 20 weeks' gestation, STIC technique allowed visualization of blood flow in the intraplacental branches of the umbilical artery (IPB) and the spiral artery jets in a cardiac cycle.

Background: Artificial intelligence is an emerging technology with rapid growth and increasing applications in orthopaedics. This study aimed to summarize the existing evidence and recent developments of artificial intelligence in diagnosing knee osteoarthritis and predicting outcomes of total knee arthroplasty.
Methods: PubMed and EMBASE databases were searched for articles published in peer-reviewed journals between January 1, 2010 and May 31, 2021.

Color flow imaging (CFI), being non-invasive, is commonly used in obstetrics to study the fetal and placental circulations. The conventional CFI modes include color Doppler flow imaging (CDFI) and power Doppler imaging (PDI). In recent years, there is increasing use of new modes, including high-definition flow imaging (HDFI), radiant flow, microvascular flow imaging (MVFI), and three-/four-dimensional rendering in glass-body mode.

Purpose: This study identified factors predicting malignant upgrade for atypical ductal hyperplasia (ADH) diagnosed on core-needle biopsy (CNB) and developed a nomogram to facilitate evidence-based decision making.
Methods: This retrospective analysis included women diagnosed with ADH at the National Cancer Centre Singapore (NCCS) in 2010-2015. Cox proportional hazards regression was used to identify clinical, radiological, and histological factors associated with malignant upgrade.

Despite the use of two- and three- dimensional color Doppler ultrasonography, the prenatal sonographic evaluation of precordial venous system remains difficult. Spatiotemporal image correlation (STIC) technology has been well described for the assessment of the fetal heart, but not of precordial venous system. As demonstrated in this report, it is feasible to use four-dimensional ultrasound with STIC rendered volume in glass-body mode and tomographic ultrasound imaging to image this system including the connection and drainage of the ductus venosus, hepatic veins and inferior vena cava to the fetal heart.
