The dose frequency of drugs belonging to class II is usually high and associated with harmful effects on the body. The study aimed to enhance the solubility of the poorly water-soluble drug amoxicillin (AM) by the solid dispersion (SD) technique. Six different SDs of AM, F1-F6, were prepared by the spray drying technique using two other carriers, HP-β-CD (F1-F3) and HPMC (F4-F6), in 1:1, 1:2, and 1:3 drug-to-polymer ratios.

Ertapenem is a member of carbapenem antibiotics used for the treatment of moderate-to-severe intra-abdominal, urinary tract, acute pelvic, and post-surgical gynecologic infections. The antibacterial activity of ertapenem is mediated through binding to penicillin-binding proteins which results in inhibiting the cross-linking of the peptidoglycan layer of the bacterial cell wall. Therefore, ertapenem can be labeled with technetium-99m (Tc), a gamma emitter radionuclide, for the diagnosis of deep-seated bacterial infections, such as urinary tract, intra-abdominal, osteomyelitis, and post-surgical gynecologic infections.

Using gender as a theoretical framework, we analyse the dynamics of debt and equity financing during the COVID-19 pandemic for a cross-country sample of 8,921 private firms. We provide evidence of a slight gender bias in debt financing, with creditors favouring female entrepreneurs when dealing with cash flow problems during the COVID-19 pandemic. We find no evidence of gender bias in equity financing.

Article Synopsis
  • Using sewage water for irrigation can help crops grow better, but it can also cause problems for the crops, soil, and people's health because it contains harmful substances like toxins and heavy metals.
  • A study looked at iron levels in different types of crops watered with sewage water, canal water, and tube well water to see if they were safe to eat.
  • The results showed that while the soil was a bit contaminated, the iron levels in the crops were safe for humans, meaning there wasn’t a health risk, but it’s important to keep checking to make sure no more harmful iron builds up.

Postharvest losses of grape berries caused by the pathogenic fungi and have been widely reported, and nitric oxide (NO) as a plant signaling molecule to control postharvest diseases has recently become an active research topic. This study aimed to investigate the regulatory effect of NO on the interaction between grape berries and fungi. During interactions between grape berries and pathogenic fungi, treatment with 10 mM sodium nitroprusside (SNP, an NO donor) delayed the decline of the physiological quality of the grape berries and had positive effects on the weight loss rate, firmness, and respiration intensity.

Entropy is a thermodynamic function in chemistry that reflects the randomness and disorder of molecules in a particular system or process based on the number of alternative configurations accessible to them. Distance-based entropy is used to solve a variety of difficulties in biology, chemical graph theory, organic and inorganic chemistry, and other fields. In this article, the characterization of the crystal structure of niobium oxide and a metal-organic framework is investigated.

This study adopts a very effective high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) technique for the quantitative determination of rosmarinic acid (RA) and PCR-based amplification of biosynthetic key regulators in Isodon rugosus, Daphne mucronata, and Viburnum grandiflorum from the lower Himalayan regions. Rosmarinic acid is engaged in a variety of biological processes and has significant industrial significance. In this study, it was identified from crude methanolic extract using thin-layer chromatography with a standard, and its content was quantified using HPLC without interrupting spikes using a mixture of methanol and deionized water containing acetonitrile (70:30 v/v) and acetic acid (0.

Coronavirus (COVID-19) has adversely harmed the healthcare system and economy throughout the world. COVID-19 has similar symptoms as other chest disorders such as lung cancer (LC), pneumothorax, tuberculosis (TB), and pneumonia, which might mislead the clinical professionals in detecting a new variant of flu called coronavirus. This motivates us to design a model to classify multi-chest infections.
