This narrative review provides an updated synthesis of the latest evidence on the neurological manifestations of long COVID, discussing its clinical phenotypes, underlying pathophysiology, while also presenting the current state of diagnostic and therapeutic approaches. Approximately one-third of COVID-19 survivors experience prolonged neurological sequelae that persist for at least 12-months post-infection, adversely affecting patients' quality of life.

In this article, we develop a probabilistic generative model to perform inference in multilayer networks with arbitrary types of information.

In 2024, circulating vaccine-derived poliovirus type 2 (cVDPV2) was detected in wastewater samples in Finland, Germany, Poland, Spain and the United Kingdom (UK). All strains were genetically linked, but sequence analysis showed high genetic diversity among the strains identified within individual wastewater sites and countries and an unexpected high genetic proximity among isolates from different countries. Taken together these results, with sequential samples having tested positive in various sites, a broader geographic distribution beyond positive sampling sites must be considered.

While de novo missense variants in the BTB domains of atypical RhoGTPase RHOBTB2 cause a severe developmental and epileptic encephalopathy, de novo missense variants in the GTPase domain or bi-allelic truncating variants are associated with more variable neurodevelopmental and seizure phenotypes. Apart from the observation of RHOBTB2 abundance resulting from BTB-domain variants and increased seizure susceptibility in Drosophila overexpressing RhoBTB, our knowledge on RHOBTB2-related pathomechanisms is limited. We now found enrichment for ion channels among the differentially expressed genes from RNA-Seq on fly heads overexpressing RhoBTB.

Populations are continually adapting to their environment. Knowledge of which populations and individuals harbor unique and agriculturally useful variation has the potential to accelerate crop adaptation to the increasingly challenging environments predicted for the coming century. Landscape genomics, which identifies associations between environmental and genomic variation, provides a means for obtaining this knowledge.

There has been a rising call to decolonize global health so that it more fully includes the concerns, knowledge, and research from people all over the world. This endeavor can only succeed, we argue, if we also recognize that much of established global health doctrine is rooted in Euro-American beliefs, values, and practice rather than being culturally neutral. This paper examines the cultural biases of child feeding recommendations as a case in point.

This systematic review assessed the use of remote physical fitness assessments, a crucial adaptation during the COVID-19 pandemic that broadened access to health monitoring outside traditional settings. In path_APC carriers, second hits result in the development of multiple adenomas, with CRC typically emerging after an additional 20 years.
