Introduction: ND0612 is being investigated as a continuous, subcutaneous levodopa/carbidopa infusion, in combination with oral levodopa/carbidopa, for motor fluctuations in Parkinson's disease (PD). One-year data from the ongoing BeyoND study (NCT02726386) showed that the ND0612 regimen was safe and well tolerated and provided a sustained ≥2-h improvement in daily Good ON-time through 12 months of treatment.

Mussels from the Mytilus edulis species complex experience a salinity gradient from the North Sea into the Baltic Proper ranging from 32 to 5. As osmoconformers, they adjust their internal osmolarity to match that of their surroundings, which presents a significant challenge to the metabolic machinery, including their mitochondria. We hypothesized that the osmotic optima for the mitochondrial function of mussels matches the prevailing habitat salinity and is accompanied by a population specific metabolite profile.

Members of the genera Flavobacterium, Chryseobacterium and Sphingomonas constitute a group of microorganisms in the rhizosphere associated with plant growth promoting (PGP) features. A polyphasic approach was employed to ascertain the taxonomic status of five selected strains. Overall genome relatedness indices of digital DNA-DNA hybridization (dDDH) and average nucleotide identity (ANI) between the strains and the other members of the genera Flavobacterium, Chryseobacterium and Sphingomonas were found to be below the established thresholds, respectively.

Case: We describe a 13-year-old adolescent girl experiencing persistent pain and reduced grip strength following nonoperative treatment of a medial epicondyle fracture-dislocation with closed reduction over 5 years before her referral to our clinic. Neurological examination and magnetic resonance imaging of the elbow revealed damage to the median nerve due to an entrapment within the elbow. Surgical release of the nerve resulted in complete pain relief and improved neurological function with normalized nerve conduction.

On 3 October 2023, a multihazard cascade in the Sikkim Himalaya, India, was triggered by 14.7 million m of frozen lateral moraine collapsing into South Lhonak Lake, generating an ~20 m tsunami-like impact wave, breaching the moraine, and draining ~50 million m of water. The origins and prehistory of domestic sheep () are incompletely understood; to address this, we generated data from 118 ancient genomes spanning 12,000 years sampled from across Eurasia. Genomes from Central Türkiye ~8000 BCE are genetically proximal to the domestic origins of sheep but do not fully explain the ancestry of later populations, suggesting a mosaic of wild ancestries. Genomic signatures indicate selection by ancient herders for pigmentation patterns, hornedness, and growth rate.

In the ancient microbial Wood-Ljungdahl pathway, carbon dioxide (CO) is fixed in a multistep process that ends with acetyl-coenzyme A (acetyl-CoA) synthesis at the bifunctional carbon monoxide dehydrogenase/acetyl-CoA synthase complex (CODH/ACS). In this work, we present structural snapshots of the CODH/ACS from the gas-converting acetogen , characterizing the molecular choreography of the overall reaction, including electron transfer to the CODH for CO reduction, methyl transfer from the corrinoid iron-sulfur protein (CoFeSP) partner to the ACS active site, and acetyl-CoA production. Unlike CODH, the multidomain ACS undergoes large conformational changes to form an internal connection to the CODH active site, accommodate the CoFeSP for methyl transfer, and protect the reaction intermediates.
