Background: Treatment of hematological malignancies with chimeric antigen receptor modified T cells (CART) is highly efficient, but often limited by an immune effector cell-associated neurotoxicity syndrome (ICANS). As conventional MRI is often unremarkable during ICANS, we aimed to examine whether resting-state functional MRI (rsfMRI) is suitable to depict and quantify brain network alterations underlying ICANS in the individual patient.
Methods: The dysconnectivity index (DCI) based on rsfMRI was longitudinally assessed in systemic lymphoma patients and 1 melanoma patient during ICANS and before or after clinical resolution of ICANS.

Purpose Of Review: The vestibular system provides three-dimensional idiothetic cues for updating of one's position in space during head and body movement. Ascending vestibular signals reach entorhinal and hippocampal networks via head-direction pathways, where they converge with multisensory information to tune the place and grid cell code.
Recent Findings: Animal models have provided insight to neurobiological consequences of vestibular lesions for cerebral networks controlling spatial cognition.

Low-intensity noisy galvanic vestibular stimulation (nGVS) can improve static and dynamic postural deficits in patients with bilateral vestibular loss (BVL). In this study, we aimed to explore the neurophysiological and neuroanatomical substrates underlying nGVS treatment effects in a rat model of BVL. Regional brain activation patterns and behavioral responses to a repeated 30 min nGVS treatment in comparison to sham stimulation were investigated by serial whole-brain F-FDG-PET measurements and quantitative locomotor assessments before and at nine consecutive time points up to 60 days after the chemical bilateral labyrinthectomy (BL).

Here, we analyzed the geometrical shape configuration of 2D-projections of pointing performances to a memorized array of spatially distributed targets in order to assess the feasibility of this new holistic analysis method. Background: Previous studies indicate that imbalance in patients with bilateral vestibulopathy (BVP) may be reduced by treatment with low-intensity noisy galvanic vestibular stimulation (nGVS).
Objective: To elucidate the potential mechanisms underlying this therapeutic effect. In particular, we determined whether nGVS-induced balance improvements in patients are compatible with stochastic resonance (SR)-a mechanism by which weak noise stimulation can paradoxically enhance sensory signal processing.

Chronic or long-term vestibular disorders such as unilateral vestibular hypofunction may have an even greater negative impact on sleep quality than acute vestibular problems. Positional vertigo poses a diagnostic challenge in people with multiple sclerosis (MS). Abnormal, spontaneous eye movements are an easily recognisable neuro-ophthalmological symptom that can be both congenital and acquired. In a retrospective study, the data of direction-dependent deviations in dynamic subjective visual vertical (SVV) testing were analysed in 1811 dizzy patients (174 benign paroxysmal positional vertigo, 99 unilateral vestibulopathy, 67 bilateral vestibulopathy, 151 Menière's disease, 375 vestibular migraine, 82 cerebellar disorder, 522 functional dizziness, 341 unclear diagnosis) and in 59 healthy controls. Major findings were (i) a significant gender difference with higher directional deviations in females over the entire range of age, (ii) a significant increase of directional deviations with increasing age for both genders and in all disease subgroups as well as in healthy controls, and (iii) a lack of significant difference of directional deviations between all tested diseases. Thus, the data allow no recommendation for performing additional angular deviation analysis in dynamic SVV testing as part of routine clinical management of dizzy patients.

Background: Recent studies have implied that ongoing intravenous thrombolysis (IVT) during endovascular treatment (ET) improves functional outcomes in patients who have undergone stroke caused by a large vessel occlusion (LVO). Objective: We aimed to relate clinical measures of disability in chronic cerebellar degeneration to structural whole-brain changes using voxel-based and surface-based morphometry (vbm and sbm). We were particularly interested in remote effects of cerebellar degeneration in the cerebral cortex.
Methods: We recruited 30 patients with cerebellar degeneration of different aetiologies (downbeat nystagmus syndrome, DBN n = 14, spinocerebellar ataxia, SCA n = 9, sporadic adult late-onset ataxia, SAOA n = 7).
