Introduction: This study evaluates the clinical value of a deep learning-based artificial intelligence (AI) system that performs rapid brain volumetry with automatic lobe segmentation and age- and sex-adjusted percentile comparisons.

Age-related differences in cortical microstructure are used to understand the neuronal mechanisms that underlie human brain ageing. The cerebral vasculature contributes to cortical ageing, but its precise interaction with cortical microstructure is poorly understood. In a cross-sectional study, we combine venous imaging with vessel distance mapping to investigate the interaction between venous distances and age-related differences in the microstructural architecture of the primary somatosensory cortex, the primary motor cortex and additional areas in the frontal cortex as non-sensorimotor control regions.

Limbic encephalitis (LE) due to anti-leucine-rich glioma-inactivated 1 (LGI1) antibodies is an autoimmune disease characterized by distinct clinical features unique to LGI1 LE, such as faciobrachial dystonic seizures. However, it is unclear whether an additional disease-related LGI1 antigen-specific T cell response is involved in the pathogenesis of this disease. As our knowledge about the biology of Alzheimer's disease (AD) expands and we recognize the significance of early intervention for effective treatment, there is a shift in focus toward detecting the disease at an early stage. AD is characterized by the accumulation of misfolded amyloid-β (Aβ) and phosphorylated tau proteins in the brain, leading to the formation of senile plaques and neurofibrillary tangles. While a definitive diagnosis of AD can only be confirmed through autopsy by examining these pathological features, there are now reliable methods available for diagnosing the disease in living individuals.

Mice deficient in the extracellular matrix glycoprotein tenascin-C (TNC) express a deficit in specific forms of hippocampal synaptic plasticity, which involve the L-type voltage-gated Ca channels (L-VGCCs). The mechanisms underlying this deficit and its functional implications for learning and memory have not been investigated. Lewy body disorders (LBD) are clinical syndromes characterized by pathological inclusions containing α-synuclein. Although it is widely accepted that physical exercise promotes weight loss, physical exercise alone had been found to result in only marginal weight loss compared to no treatment. Interestingly, both subjective and objective sleep duration have been shown to be negatively correlated to the body mass index (BMI).
