Background: Data collected in EHRs have been widely used to identifying specific conditions; however there is still a need for methods to define comorbidities and sources to identify comorbidities burden. We propose an approach to assess comorbidities burden for a specific disease using the literature and EHR data sources in the case of autoimmune diseases in celiac disease (CD).
Methods: We generated a restricted set of comorbidities using the literature (via the MeSH® co-occurrence file).

The acute isolated distal radio-ulnar (DRU) dislocation is a rare traumatic pathology and no consensus concerning its management has been established. This case report describes an acute isolated volar DRU dislocation in a 26-year-old patient. The authors propose, based on this case and after an exhaustive review of the literature, a non-operative management for these isolated and non-complicated dislocations.

This open-label, phase II trial assessed the efficacy and safety of two doses of nintedanib, a triple angiokinase inhibitor targeting vascular endothelial growth factor, fibroblast growth factor, and platelet-derived growth factor signaling, in patients with metastatic castration-resistant prostate cancer (mCRPC) following progression on docetaxel-based regimens. Patients were randomized to nintedanib 150 mg (arm A, n=40) or 250 mg (arm B, n=41) twice daily for 6 months unless disease progression or adverse events (AEs) led to discontinuation. The primary endpoint was the prostate-specific antigen (PSA) response rate (confirmed PSA decline of ≥20% from baseline).

In POINT X, a study designed to reflect clinical practice and patient treatment choices, 254 European patients received open-label collagenase for Dupuytren's contracture. The most severely affected joint was treated first in 74% of patients. In total, 52%, 41%, 7%, and 1% of patients selected the little, ring, middle, and index finger, respectively; 79% had one or two joints treated.

The authors report the case of a patient with psychotic symptoms secondary to a posttraumatic stress disorder following a work-related hand injury. The somatic presentation was a "mummified" hand neglected for several years in a splint without any care. The psychiatric analysis concluded that this was part of a delusion of persecution expressing a conflict against the patient's employer and insurance company.

The effects of a collagen membrane and a technique of autologous vein wrapping on scar formation after peripheral nerve suture are investigated. Forty-eight sciatic nerves from Wistar rats were transected and repaired, then allocated to a control group C (n=16) and two experimental groups: in group A (n=16) the repair line was covered by the collagen membrane, and in group B (n=16) the repair line was wrapped by an external jugular venous graft. Three months later, it was observed that adhesions in the surrounding tissues were significantly less in groups A and B compared to group C, and significantly less in group A than in the group B.

Anterior shoulder dislocation is a very common trauma and the main complications are well documented. We report a case of aseptic osteonecrosis of the humeral head following an isolated episode of anterior glenohumeral dislocation without fracture that, to our knowledge, has never been reported in the literature.A 17-year-old male patient sustained an anterior glenohumeral dislocation following a sport accident.
