: Pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma (PDAC) is a cancer with very poor prognosis despite early surgical management. To date, only clinical variables are used to predict outcome for decision-making about adjuvant therapy. We sought to generate a deep learning approach based on hematoxylin and eosin (H&E) or hematoxylin, eosin and saffron (HES) whole slides to predict patients' outcome, compare these new entities with known molecular subtypes and question their biological significance; : We used as a training set a retrospective private cohort of 206 patients treated by surgery for PDAC cancer and a validation cohort of 166 non-metastatic patients from The Cancer Genome Atlas (TCGA) PDAC project.

Breast and Gynaecologic Cancer Registry of Côte d'Or / Epidemiology and Quality of Life Research Unit, Georges-François Leclerc Cancer Centre-UNICANCER Centre, 1 rue Professeur Marion, 21000 Dijon, France.
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, and ensuing overcrowding in the French health system, management of patients with COVID-19 was given priority over that of patients with other pathologies, including chronic diseases. The aim of this study was to study the impact of COVID-19 on the stage of discovery of cancers diagnosed in the context of an organized breast cancer screening programme, as well as the impact on time to treatment. All women diagnosed with cancer in the Côte d'Or via organized breast cancer screening (first or second reading) from January 1, 2019 to December 31, 2020 were included in this study.

Purpose: Little is known about whether baseline health-related quality of life (HRQoL) scores also could predict occurrence radiotherapy-related toxicities, which we aim to assess in this study.
Methods: This study analyzed data from 200 patients enrolled in randomized study investigating the utility of HRQoL. HRQOL was assessed at baseline and during follow up using QLQ-C30 questionnaire and major toxicity was considered as adverse event ≥ 3 according to NCI-CTCAE classification.

Background: Little is known about the epidemiology of biliary tract cancers over the last decade. We investigated trends in incidence, treatment and prognosis of biliary tract cancers according to anatomic site.
Methods: 714 biliary tract cancers recorded between 2012 and 2019 in the French population-based cancer registry of Burgundy were included.

Background: The authors used the French breast cancer Cancer and Toxicities (CANTO) cohort to study the associations between baseline quality of life and chemotherapy dose-reductions (CDRs) or postchemotherapy-toxicities (PCTs).
Methods: In total, 3079 patients with breast cancer who received chemotherapy were included in this analysis. The associations between baseline physical functioning (PF) and fatigue measured using the European Organization for Research and Treatment of Cancer Quality-of-Life Questionnaire Core 30, and two endpoints-CDRs during adjuvant or neoadjuvant chemotherapy; and selected PCTs were estimated with odds ratios (ORs) and the corresponding 95% confidence intervals (CIs) using logistic regression models.

Background: The aim of this study was to assess the impact of baseline health related quality of life (HRQOL) on the occurrence of postoperative complications and death in patients with resectable esophageal cancer.
Methods: Existing data from a prospective, multicenter, open label, randomized, controlled phase III trial comparing hybrid versus open esophagectomy in patients with resectable esophageal cancer from 2009 to 2012 in France were used. A Cox regression model was used to assess the prognostic value of the baseline HRQOL score on the occurrence of major complications (MC), and major pulmonary complications (MPC) at 30 days post-surgery, as well as on 1-year postoperative overall survival (OS).

The impact of routine assessment of health-related quality of life (HRQoL) on satisfaction with care and the HRQoL of patients with head and neck cancer (HNC) treated with radiotherapy was assessed. Patients with HNC were randomly assigned to two arms, with stratification on sex, cancer localization, and stage of the disease. In the intervention arm, the patients completed the EORTC QLQ-C30 and EORTC QLQ-H&N35 questionnaires first before randomization, then before each medical appointment during radiotherapy (7 weeks), and then every 3 months until 1 year and at 2 years thereafter.

Background: The likelihood that health-related quality of life (HRQoL) could depend on factors other than clinical data increases with the duration of follow-up since diagnosis. The aim of this study was to identify determinants of long-term HRQoL in women with cervical, endometrial, and ovarian cancer. Secondary objectives were to describe their living conditions (sexual function, psychological distress, social and professional reinsertion).
