We aimed to investigate the clinicopathological characteristics of the rare subgroup of ILC patients with gastrointestinal (GI) metastases.

Objectives: To assess the perceptions of patients with rheumatic diseases about the doctor-patient relationship and the impact on their treatment and their quality of life.
Methods: A quantitative study collecting data from patients with rheumatic diseases using the following tools: (a) the Doctor-Patient Relationship Assessment Questionnaire-16 (DoPRAQ-16), assessed the quality of doctor-patient relationship, (b) the Short Form 36 (SF-36) assessed the quality of life of patients, and (c) the Health Assessment Questionnaire (HAQ), assessed the functional ability of patients. From the statistical analysis, it appears that there is no linear correlation between the DoPRAQ-16 scales and the dimensions of the SF-36 Health Survey, except for the scale of negative emotions and the dimension of Physical Functioning.

Background: COVID-19 continues to pose a threat to immunocompromised individuals, even with vaccination. The monoclonal antibodies (mAbs) tixagevimab/cilgavimab (TXG/CIL) provide targeted prophylaxis against SARS-CoV-2 with the benefit of a prolonged half-life. Although approved for COVID-19 prevention, there is limited data on their effectiveness among heavily immunocompromised populations.

Tricuspid regurgitation (TR) is an intricate disorder that has a negative outlook, while surgical treatment is linked to increased mortality. Primary TR occurs due to a structural defect in the tricuspid valve (TV), while secondary TR is a more prevalent condition often associated with pulmonary hypertension, heart failure, and atrial fibrillation. The use of specific surgical procedures to improve TR is limited in everyday clinical practice due to the heightened surgical risk and delayed patient presentation.

Background: Despite its high prevalence and impact on health, metabolic dysfunction-associated steatotic liver disease (MASLD) is inadequately addressed in European primary care (PC), with a large proportion of cases going undiagnosed or diagnosed too late. A multi-country European research consortium led a project to design and evaluate a patient-centered, integrated model for MASLD screening, diagnosis, and linkage to specialty care for European PC settings. Based on the lessons from this project, the latest research evidence, and existing guidelines for the management of MASLD, we sought to develop a set of practice recommendations for screening, referral, and management of MASLD in PC.

Patient-reported knee-related rating scores and scales are widely used in reporting the clinical outcomes of anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) surgery. Understanding the psychometric properties of such measures is vital to recognizing the limitations that such measures may confer. The aim of this study was to review the available evidence as to the psychometric properties of patient-reported outcome measures (PROMs) used in ACL surgery.

Introduction: Despite the technological advancements in catheter ablation strategies, the recurrence of atrial fibrillation (AF) post-ablation remains a concern that requires further investigation. Glucagon-like peptide 1 (GLP-1) receptor agonists have shown a significant effect on weight reduction, which in turn is associated with freedom from AF recurrence in both patients who are obese and not obese undergoing ablation. Therefore, we aimed to summarize the available evidence on the efficacy of GLP-1 receptor agonists in maintaining sinus rhythm post-ablation.

The impact of sex on the prognosis of patients with esophageal cancer remains unclear. Evidence supports that sex- based disparities in esophageal cancer survival could be attributed to sex- specific risk exposures, such as age at diagnosis, race, socioeconomic status, smoking, drinking, and histological type. The aim of our study is to investigate the role of sex disparities in survival of patients who underwent surgery for esophageal cancer.

Periprosthetic fractures involving total knee arthroplasty (TKA) components, particularly involving the patella, can present a significant challenge regarding orthopedic surgery. This technical note outlines an approach for the reconstruction of complicated periprosthetic transpatellar fractures, with poor bone stock, utilizing autogenous iliac graft. This kind of procedure requires careful preoperative evaluation of imaging, precise intraoperative planning, and strict postoperative management to achieve adequate postoperative results.
