Chemical communication via neurotransmitters is central to brain functions. Nevertheless, in vivo real-time monitoring of neurotransmitters released in the brain, especially the electrochemically inactive molecules, remains a great challenge. In this work, a novel needle field-effect transistor (FET) microsensor based on an acupuncture needle is proposed, which is demonstrated to be capable of real-time monitoring dopamine molecules as well as neuropeptide Y in vivo.

Prognostic and clinicopathological significance of nm23-H1 expression in non-small cell lung cancer: A meta-analysis.

Medicine (Baltimore)

September 2022

Department of Oncology, Yichang Central People's Hospital, The First College of Clinical Medical Science, China Three Gorges University, Yichang, China.

Background: The relationship between the expression of nm23-H1 and the invasion and prognosis of non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) is still controversial. Therefore, we conducted a meta-analysis to determine the prognostic value of nm23-H1 in patients with NSCLC. And to explore the relationship between the expression of nm23-H1 and clinicopathological features in patients with NSCLC.

Objective: To explore the significance of liraglutide combined with dapagliflozin or empagliflozin in the prevention of early diabetic nephropathy (DN) and its effects on renal function indices.

Methods: Three hundred patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) treated in our hospital from April 2019 to April 2020 were retrospectively included and divided into two groups according to different treatment regimens. Among them, 150 patients who received liraglutide alone were included in the single-drug group, and 150 patients treated with liraglutide combined with dapagliflozin or empagliflozin were included in the combination group.

Cholangiocyte death accompanied by the progression of primary biliary cholangitis (PBC) has not yet been thoroughly investigated. Thus, we are aimed to explore the role of HSP90 and a potential treatment strategy in cholangiocyte necroptosis. First, we detected the expression of HSP90 and necroptotic markers in liver tissues from patients and mice with PBC by immunohistochemistry (IHC) and real-time polymerase chain reaction (PCR).

Prompt and effective treatment is the key to improve the prognosis of patients with acute trauma, and nursing plays an important role. However, conventional nursing has many limitations. Some studies have pointed out that the multidisciplinary collaborative chain management model can optimize the emergency procedures, ensure the continuity of the emergency treatment process, and optimize the treatment details.

Long Non-Coding RNA ZEB2-AS1 Promotes Hepatocellular Carcinoma Progression by Regulating The Axis.

Cell J

June 2022

Center for Clinical Laboratory, General Hospital of The Yangtze River Shipping, Wuhan Brain Hospital, Wuhan, Hubei, China.

Objective: Long non-coding RNAs (lncRNAs) feature prominently in tumors. Reportedly, lncRNA zinc finger E-box-binding homeobox 2 antisense RNA 1 (ZEB2-AS1) is aberrantly expressed in a variety of tumors. The present study was aimed to explore ZEB2-AS1 functions and determine mechanism in hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) progression.

Background: Studies have indicated vascular smooth muscle cells (VSMCs) played a crucial role in atherosclerosis and microRNAs (miRNAs) played key roles in biological functions of VSMCs. Whereas, the potential function and mechanism of miR-552 in VSMCs remains unclear. Our aim was to explore the role of miR-552 on VSMCs and underlying mechanism.

Plumbagin protects H9c2 cardiomyocytes against TBHP-induced cytotoxicity by alleviating ROS-induced apoptosis and modulating autophagy.

Exp Ther Med

August 2022

Department of Neurosurgery, General Hospital of the Yangtze River Shipping, Wuhan Brain Hospital, Wuhan, Hubei 430014, P.R. China.

Plumbagin (PLB) has been previously reported to alleviate myocardial ischemia/reperfusion injury . In the present study, the potential of plumbagin to protect against hydrogen peroxide-induced injury in cardiomyocytes was analyzed. Specifically, the cytoprotective effects of PLB were evaluated in H9c2 cardiomyocytes, in which oxidative stress was induced by tertiary butyl hydrogen peroxide (TBHP; 75 µM) treatment.

This research was aimed at exploring the changes in the apparent diffusion coefficient (ADC) and dynamic contrast-enhanced magnetic resonance imaging (DCE-MRI) parameters of prostate cancer (PCa) patients. Sixty PCa patients from the hospital were recruited as the research object, and dynamic contrast-enhanced magnetic resonance imaging (DCE-MRI) scans were performed to determine the shape, scope, and enhancement characteristics of prostate lesions and their relationship with surrounding tissues. The quantitative parameters of ADC and DCE-MRI were measured.

The study focused on the therapeutic effects of high-flow oxygen therapy on patients with critical lung injury using edge detection-based ultrasound images. Firstly, the traditional Canny edge detection algorithm was improved, and the optimal threshold was obtained by optimizing the median filter and combining Otsu algorithm and threshold iteration method. Then, the optimized algorithm was compared with the traditional Canny edge detection algorithm and applied to process the lung ultrasound images of 120 cases of critical lung injury, to compare the efficacy of high-flow oxygen therapy and the traditional oxygen therapy.
