Physiological root resorption of deciduous teeth is a normal phenomenon occurring during the developmental stages of children. Previous research has indicated the pivotal role of the inflammatory microenvironment in this process, although the specific mechanisms remain unclear. This study is aimed at elucidating the involvement of the alpha7 nicotinic acetylcholine receptors (α7 nAChR)-autophagy axis in the regulation of the inflammatory microenvironment during physiological root resorption in deciduous teeth.

In diploid organisms, half of the chromosomes in each cell come from the father and half from the mother. Through previous studies, it was found that the paternal chromosome and the maternal chromosome can be regulated and expressed independently, leading to the emergence of allele specific expression (ASE). In this study, we analyzed the differential expression of alleles in the high-altitude population and the normal population based on the RNA sequencing data.

Background And Purpose: Acute mountain sickness is a series of brain-centered symptoms that occur when rapidly ascending to high altitude. Predicting acute mountain sickness before high-altitude exposure is crucial for protecting susceptible individuals. The present study aimed to evaluate the feasibility of predicting acute mountain sickness after high-altitude exposure by using multimodal brain MR imaging features measured at sea level.

In recent years, wearable devices have seen a booming development, and the integration of wearable devices with clinical settings is an important direction in the development of wearable devices. The purpose of this study is to establish a prediction model for postoperative pulmonary complications (PPCs) by continuously monitoring respiratory physiological parameters of cardiac valve surgery patients during the preoperative 6-Minute Walk Test (6MWT) with a wearable device. By enrolling 53 patients with cardiac valve diseases in the Department of Cardiovascular Surgery, West China Hospital, Sichuan University, the grouping was based on the presence or absence of PPCs in the postoperative period.

Introduction: is the most prevalent biofilm-forming pathogen in dental caries, while is often detected in the presence of .
Methods: We aimed to evaluate the anti-caries effect of stevioside in medium trypticase soy broth (TSB) with or without sucrose supplementation compared with the same sweetness sucrose and xylitol in a dual-species model of and , based on planktonic growth, crystal violet assay, acid production, biofilm structural imaging, confocal laser scanning microscopy, and RNA sequencing.
Results: Our results showed that compared with sucrose, stevioside significantly inhibited planktonic growth and acid production, changed the structure of the mixed biofilm, and reduced the viability of biofilm and the production of extracellular polysaccharides in dual-species biofilm.

Introduction: Nanobubble is an innovative ultrasound contrast agent that triggers the development of targeted imaging of HER2-positive breast cancer by combining with HER2 affibody and IR783. HPPH is a second-generation photosensitiser that is effective in treating tumours. Hence, the nanobubble-IR783-HPPH-affibody (NIHA) complex demonstrates considerable potential in the treatment of HER2-positive breast cancer.

Objective: In the mouse model, manipulations of assisted reproductive technology (ART) can lead to enlarged placentas and influence the expression of amino acid transporters in placentas during mid-to late-gestation. However, it is uncertain whether those abnormal changes presented in ART mouse placentas also occur in human ART placentas.
Methods: We choose the placenta tissue of pregnant woman by ART in term birth (ART group) and by natural pregnancy in term birth (control group) to compare the birth weight of the baby, placental weight and ratio of the fetal/placental weight of these two groups.

Osteogenic differentiation of periodontal ligament stem cells (PDLSCs) is limited in hypoxia, and HIF-1α is key to the response to hypoxia. However, its mechanisms remain largely unknown. This study discovered an osteogenesis-related gene sensitive to hypoxia in PDLSCs, and investigated the molecular mechanisms between HIF-1α and the gene.

Background: Carotid atherosclerosis by ultrasound scanning can be considered as an ideal window to reflect systemic artery atherosclerosis, which has aroused wide concern for predicting the severity of coronary artery atherosclerosis clinically. Ultrasound radio frequency (RF) data technology has enabled us to evaluate the carotid structure and elastic function precisely, for predicting the severity of coronary artery atherosclerosis.
Methods: Patients with suspected coronary artery disease (CAD) underwent coronary angiography and were assigned to four groups according to whether atherosclerotic plaque was found or not and it caused stenosis.

Methods: Sixty patients diagnosed with PHT and underwent surgical treatment with portosystemic shunts were enrolled.
Background: The correlation between brain injury and high-altitude (HA) exposure duration (Dur_HA) as well as peripheral oxygen saturation (SpO) remains unclear.
Purpose: To evaluate the global and regional brain volume differences between HA immigrants and sea-level residents, and the relationship between brain volume with Dur_HA and SpO.

encodes the V1B2 subunit in V-ATPase, a proton pump responsible for the acidification of lysosomes. Mutations in this gene cause DDOD syndrome, DOORS syndrome, and Zimmermann-Laband syndrome, which share overlapping feature of congenital sensorineural deafness, onychodystrophy, and different extents of intellectual disability without or with epilepsy. However, the underlying mechanisms remain unclear.

Introduction: Children conceived by assisted reproductive technologies have a high risk of suffering from obstetrical complications and long-term health problems, but the related mechanisms are not fully understood. Normal placental function is closely linked with foetal growth and future health. Given the significance of glycogen metabolism in placentas, we investigated the effect of in vitro fertilization (IVF) on glycogen storage in placentas using a mouse model.

Objective To investigate the effect of knocking down hexokinase 2 (HK2) on the proliferation and drug resistance of breast cancer cells and its mechanism. Methods The MDA-MB-231 breast cancer cells were transfected with the short hairpin RNA (shRNA) plasmid. The mRNA and protein levels of HK2 were detected by real-time quantitative PCR and Western blotting, respectively; MTT assay was used to detect the effect of HK2 on the proliferation and 5-fluorouraci (5-FU) resistance of breast cancer cells; Lactate assay and extracellular acidification rate (ECAR) were used to detect the effect of HK2 on the glycolysis of breast cancer cells.
