Cancer-induced bone pain (CIBP) caused by bone metastasis is one of the most prevalent diseases, and current treatments rely primarily on opioids, which have significant side effects. However, recent developments in pharmaceutical science have identified several new mechanisms for CIBP, including the targeted modification of certain ion channels and receptors. Ion channels are transmembrane proteins, which are situated on biological cell membranes, which facilitate passive transport of inorganic ions across membranes.

Aims: Adenosine 2A receptor (A R) is widely expressed in the brain and plays important roles in neuroinflammation, and the nucleotide-binding oligomerization domain, leucine-rich repeat, and pyrin domain-containing protein 3 (NLRP3) inflammasome is a crucial component of the innate immune system while the regulation of A R on it in the central nervous system (CNS) has not been clarified.
Methods: The effects of microglial A R on NLRP3 inflammasome assembly and activation were investigated in wild-type, A R- or NLRP3-knockout primary microglia with pharmacological treatment. Microglial A R or NLRP3 conditional knockout mice were used to interrogate the effects of this regulation on neuroinflammation posttraumatic brain injury (TBI).

Introduction And Importance: Following debridement, the skin and mucous membranes around the wound must be disinfected with broad-spectrum disinfectants like Iodophor, 75 % ethanol, chlorhexidine, and bromogeramine. Despite the fact that it is rarely reported, skin allergy to disinfectants is extremely detrimental to wound recovery after debridement.
Case Presentation: In this study, a 29-year-old man with no previous allergic history developed delayed contact dermatitis after being exposed to multiple disinfectants, including iodophor, 75 % ethanol, and Erythromycin ointment.

The arterial occlusive disease is one of the leading causes of cardiovascular diseases, often requiring revascularization. Lack of suitable small-diameter vascular grafts (SDVGs), infection, thrombosis, and intimal hyperplasia associated with synthetic vascular grafts lead to a low success rate of SDVGs (< 6 mm) transplantation in the clinical treatment of cardiovascular diseases. The development of fabrication technology along with vascular tissue engineering and regenerative medicine technology allows biological tissue-engineered vascular grafts to become living grafts, which can integrate, remodel, and repair the host vessels as well as respond to the surrounding mechanical and biochemical stimuli.

Background: High altitude pulmonary edema (HAPE) is a hypoxia-induced non-cardiogenic pulmonary edema that typically occurred in un-acclimatized lowlanders, which inevitably leads to life-threatening consequences. Apart from multiple factors involved, the genetic factors also play an important role in the pathogenesis of HAPE. So far, researchers have put more energy into the nuclear genome and HAPE, and ignored the relationship between the mitochondrion DNA (mtDNA) variants and HAPE susceptibility.

Hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) is characterized by a high incidence of metastasis. The dynamic remodeling of the actin cytoskeleton plays an important role in the invasion and migration of HCC cells. In previous studies, we found that CAPZA1, a capping protein, can promote EMT of HCC cells by regulating the remodeling of the actin filament (F-actin) cytoskeleton, thus promoting the invasion and migration of HCC cells.
