In order to avoid the problems of long exposure time and high incidence of photosensitivity by intravenous injection of photosensitizer, our study explore the safety, efficacy, and possible mechanisms of photodynamic therapy (PDT) by intrathoracic administration of hematoporphyrin injection in the treatment of disseminated pleural malignancies of Lewis lung carcinoma in mice to provide a theoretical basis for thoracic PDT in the clinic. Hematoporphyrin was administered into the thoracic cavity of tumor-bearing mice, and the concentrations of hematoporphyrin in normal and tumor pleural tissues were detected by high-performance liquid chromatography. The tumor-bearing mice were randomly divided into four groups: model control, pure laser irradiation, PDT low-dose, and PDT high-dose groups.

This study aimed to evaluate the efficacy and safety of remimazolam tosylate versus propofol in patients undergoing colonoscopy. In this multicentered, blinded, randomized, active-controlled, non-inferior phase III trial, 384 eligible patients who were about to undergo colonoscopy were randomized as a ratio of 1:1 into remimazolam and propofol group. Procedure success was assessed and defined as the completion of colonoscopy without administration of rescue sedative agent or more than 5 top-ups of trial drug in any 15 minute-period after initial administration of trial drug.

Herein, cancer cell membrane biomimetic ferrous ion-doped metal-organic framework nanoparticles (ZIF-8 nanoparticles) combined with dihydroartemisinin (DHA) have been designed for targeted cancer treatment with low toxicity and side effects. According to drug design flattening principle and using podophyllotoxin or 4'-demethylepipodophyllotoxin and aldehydes as starting material,a series of podophyllotoxin derivatives containing an imine structure with low toxicity were highly effective synthesized. Nine target compounds were successfully synthesized,and their structures were confirmed by ~1H-NMR,HR-ESI-MS and melting point data analysis. Using etoposide as positive control drug,nine target compounds were screened for cytotoxicity against He La cells in vitro by MTT method.

According to drug design flattening principle,a series of novel indole podophyllotoxin derivatives which were introduced different indole substituents in C-4 position on the basis of podophyllotoxin nucleus were synthesized with the starting material podophyllotoxin and 1 H-indole-5-carboxylic acid. Its anti-tumor activity in vitro was tested in order to screen for high-efficiency and low-toxic compounds. A novel fluorescent probe was constructed by the self-assembly of monosubstituted BODIPY and a novel targeted hydrophobin named hereafter as HFBI-RGD. Optical measurements and theoretical calculations confirmed that the spectral properties of the probe were greatly influenced by the BODIPY structure, the appropriate volume of BODIPY and the cavity of HFBI-RGD. The experiments and demonstrated that the probe had excellent ability for tumor labelling.

Methods: A retrospective analysis was conducted using IVF cases occurring at the Centre for Reproductive Medicine, General Hospital of Tianjin Medical University between January 2008 and December 2013. A total of 1424 couples undergoing IVF cycles were included: Ninety couples where the female was HCV positive, 78 couples where the male was HCV positive, and 1256 control couples where both the male and female were HCV negative by for the presence of HCV RNA and antibodies.

To evaluate erythropoietin (Epo) and erythropoietin receptor (EpoR) expression, its relationship with vasculogenic mimicry (VM) and its prognostic value in human hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC), we examined Epo/EpoR expression and VM formation using immunohistochemistry and CD31/PAS (periodic acid-Schiff) double staining on 92 HCC specimens. The correlation between Epo/EpoR expression and VM formation was analyzed using two-tailed Chi-square test and Spearman correlation analysis. Survival curves were generated using Kaplan-Meier method.
