Background: Energy balance in Obstructive Sleep Apnea (OSA), a disease closely related to obesity, is disturbed, and physical activity levels are impaired. The role of Continuous Positive Airway Pressure treatment (CPAP) in alleviating the disruptions mentioned above is questioned. The objective of this study is to explore changes in energy expenditure (EE) and physical activity (PA) in obese patients with OSA after CPAP treatment.

Malignant peripheral nerve sheath tumors (MPNSTs) are rare soft tissue sarcomas, with 50% of cases associated with type 1 neurofibromatosis (NF-1). A 27-year-old male patient was referred to our department with an extended right nasal cavity MPNST. The lesion extended to the skull base, intracranial, parapharyngeal space, and infratemporal fossa.

Background: C HIV/AIDS infection is characterized by a very low number of T lymphocytes (CD4), which makes sufferers vulnerable to various infections, and so they seek continuous care in Special Infections Units.
Objective: The purpose of the survey is to investigate the factors that contribute to the satisfaction derived from the health services provided to people living with the human immunodeficiency virus; and they are monitored at the Special Infections Unit of the University General Hospital of Alexandroupoli.
Methods: All patients who came to the Special Infections Unit of the University General Hospital of Alexandroupoli during the period June - July 2021 were asked to complete an anonymous questionnaire on satisfaction derived from the health services provided (E - PQ - SPCSS) and satisfaction derived from their work and quality of life (Occupational Stress Questionnaire, JCQ).
Objective: Endometrial scratching (ES) during hysteroscopy before embryotransfer (ET) remains doubtable on whether it benefits the reproductive outcomes. The optimal technique is not clear and repeated implantation failure as a challenging field in fertilization (IVF) seems to be the springboard for clinicians to test its effectiveness.
Methods: Medline, PMC, ScienceDirect, Scopus, CENTRAL, Google Scholar were searched from their inception up to April 2023 for studies to evaluate the effectiveness of adding endometrial scratching during hysteroscopy before ET.

Despite significant advancements in medical therapy, heart failure with reduced ejection fraction (HFrEF) continues to be a significant cause of death and disability. Reversible ischaemic left ventricular dysfunction due to viable myocardium is one such contributing factor. In these cases, coronary revascularization has shown promise in improving left ventricular function and prognosis.

The ongoing global health crisis due to the novel severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) has significantly impacted all aspects of life. While the majority of early research following the coronavirus disease caused by SARS-CoV-2 (COVID-19) has focused on the physiological effects of the virus, a substantial body of subsequent studies has shown that the psychological burden of the infection is also considerable. Patients, even without mental illness history, were at increased susceptibility to developing mental health and sleep disturbances during or after the COVID-19 infection.

Unlabelled: The extratemporal course of the facial nerve distributes in facial mimic muscles in a complex pattern. The traditional depictions of five main branches without anastomoses are not common. Davis classification remains the gold standard in the classification of facial nerve branching patterns.

Intravenous iron administration has emerged as a crucial intervention for managing patients with cardiorenal syndrome (CRS) and iron deficiency, with or without the presence of anemia. Multiple studies have demonstrated the benefits of intravenous iron supplementation in improving anemia, symptoms, and functional capacity in patients with HF and iron deficiency. Furthermore, iron supplementation has been associated with a reduction in hospitalizations for HF exacerbation and the improvement of patients' quality of life and clinical outcomes.

Paragangliomas are mostly benign, slow-growing, hypervascular tumors originating from neural crest derivatives. Head and neck (H&N) paragangliomas represent <1% of all H&N tumors and <5% are malignant. They are mostly non-secreting tumors that originate from autonomous parasympathetic paraganglia.

Background And Objective: Respiratory diseases are among the most significant causes of morbidity and mortality worldwide, causing substantial strain on society and health systems. Over the last few decades, there has been increasing interest in the automatic analysis of respiratory sounds and electrical impedance tomography (EIT). Nevertheless, no publicly available databases with both respiratory sound and EIT data are available.

Phytobezoars constitute conglomerates of indigested plant fibers and are a rare cause of acute mechanical ileus. They exhibit an increased prevalence in the elderly population and people with specific predisposing conditions. Radiological imaging can often set a definitive diagnosis and dictate the optimal therapeutic approach, combined with the patient's clinical status.

The current study describes a case of an aberrant cleido-occipital muscle. In particular, this muscle was arising from the middle part of the clavicle, inserted into the medial part of the upper trapezius muscle, and crossed over the supraclavicular nerves with possible compression of them, especially during shoulder abduction. Knowledge of the muscular variability of the posterior cervical triangle is crucial for supraclavicular nerve entrapment syndrome diagnosis and treatment.

Liquid drain unblockers, although meant to be used by professionals with protective equipment, are sometimes used in the household without any precautions. This could lead to severe chemical burns, as in the case we present with severe eyelid ectropion. This study aims to stress the need for preventive measures regarding the use of chemicals and for close observation and timely surgical intervention in chemical burn patients to prevent and limit disfigurement.

Myeloid leukemia of Down syndrome (ML-DS) is characterized by a distinct natural history and is classified by the World Health Organization (WHO) as an independent entity, occurring with unique clinical and molecular features. The presence of a long preleukemic, myelodysplastic phase, called transient abnormal myelopoiesis (TAM), precedes the initiation of ML-DS and is defined by unusual chromosomal findings. Individuals with constitutional trisomy 21 have a profound dosage imbalance in the hematopoiesis-governing genes located on chromosome 21 and thus are subject to impaired fetal as well as to neonatal erythro-megakaryopoiesis.

Pilomatrix carcinoma is an unusual and aggressive malignant tumor deriving from follicular matrix cells and exhibiting a metastatic potential to lungs and regional lymph nodes in 10% of cases. We report the case of a 54-year-old male patient who presented with a biopsy-proven malignant pilomatrixoma of the thoracic region, which recurred multiple times after previous excisions. Due to the size of the tumor (28 by 22 cm), wide excision and axillary lymphadenectomy of levels I and II were performed, followed by reconstruction with a free deep inferior epigastric artery perforator flap and adjuvant radiotherapy.

Nasal cavity and paranasal sinuses host a variety of malignant tumors with adenoid cystic carcinoma (ACC) being the most frequent cancer of salivary gland origin. The histological origin of such tumors virtually precludes primarily intracranial localization. The aim of this study is to report cases of primarily intracranial ACC without evidence of other primary lesions at the end of an exhaustive diagnostic workup.
