Background: The wide range of R0 resection rates (R0RR) and incomplete resection rates (IRR) observed with conventional cold snare polypectomy (CCSP) emphasizes the necessity for technique enhancement. The COLDWATER study aimed to compare underwater cold snare polypectomy (UCSP) to CCSP for 5-10-mm colorectal polyps, focusing on comprehensive histopathological evaluation, efficacy, and safety.
Methods: This was a randomized, single-blind, controlled trial comparing UCSP to CCSP for non-pedunculated colorectal polyps of size 5-10 mm.

Neutropenia refers to a decrease in the absolute neutrophil count according to age and race norms and poses a common concern in pediatric practice. Neutrophils serve as host defenders and act crucially in acute inflammation procedures. In this narrative review, we systematically present causes of neutropenia in childhood, mainly adopting the pathophysiological classification of Frater, thereby studying (1) neutropenia with reduced bone marrow reserve, (2) secondary neutropenia with reduced bone marrow reserve, and (3) neutropenia with normal bone marrow reserve.

Background: Self-limited epilepsy with autonomic seizures (SeLEAS), formerly known as Panayiotopoulos syndrome (PS), is a common multifocal autonomic childhood epileptic syndrome. SeLEAS affects 6% of children in between the ages of 1 and 15 years who have had one or more afebrile seizures in their lifetime.
Case: A 5-year-old girl was admitted to the paediatric emergency room (ER) of our hospital due to a reported episode of vomiting during her sleep, followed by central cyanosis perorally of sort duration (<5'), a right turn of her head, and gaze fixation with right eye deviation.

"Developmental hemostasis" refers to the dynamic process of gradual hemostatic maturation. Conventional coagulation tests seem to fail to accurately depict the in vivo hemostasis, while viscoelastic tests, thromboelastography (TEG), and rotational thromboelastometry (ROTEM) appear very promising as they provide insight more rapidly and accurately into the hemostatic potential. We systematically reviewed the literature in PubMed to examine the use of TEG and ROTEM in neonates.
