Purpose: We aimed to examine how different endoscopic bladder tumor resection techniques affect pathologists' clinical practice patterns.
Methods: An online survey including 28 questions clustered in four main sections was prepared by the ESUT ERBT Working Group and released to the pathologists working in the institutions of experts of the ESUT Board and the working groups and experts in the uropathology working group. A descriptive analysis was performed using the collected data.

Purpose: The aim was to verify in a pediatric population with Hashimoto's thyroiditis whether there is a relationship between antithyroid antibodies and inflammatory status on thyroid ultrasound and thyroid function.
Subjects And Methods: A total of 154 children and adolescents, aged 4 to 18 years, diagnosed with Hashimoto's thyroiditis with normal body weight were followed up for 1 year.
Results: Patients with only antiperoxidase antibodies presented with higher TSH levels than subjects with only antithyroglobulin antibodies (p 0.

Forearm fractures in children and adolescents are associated with increased body mass index (BMI). This bone site is non-weight-bearing and therefore is appropriate to explore the effect of BMI on bone mineral density (BMD) and bone geometry, avoiding the confounding effect of increased weight-associated mechanical loading. The aim of this review was to summarize available evidence on bone indices and body composition assessed by peripheral quantitative computed tomography (pQCT) or dual X-ray absorptiometry (DXA) at the forearm level in overweight (Ow) or obese (Ob) subjects.

The aim of the "Smuovi La Salute" ("Shake Your Health") project was to implement an integrated and comprehensive model to prevent and treat overweight and obesity in low socioeconomic status (SES) and minority groups living in three different districts in the north of Italy. An app and a cookbook promoting transcultural nutrition and a healthy lifestyle were developed, and no-cost physical activities were organized. Healthy lifestyle teaching was implemented in 30 primary school classrooms.

Urodynamic examination is clinically relevant since underlying pathophysiology of lower urinary tract (LUT) dysfunction can be variable.
Objective: Evaluation of the pathophysiology of urological symptoms and exploration of differences in urodynamic patterns of LUT dysfunction between MSA-P and MSA-C.

Purpose: Treatment of muscle-invasive bladder cancer (MIBC) remains challenging, especially for elderly and/or comorbid patients. Patients who are unfit for or refuse surgery should receive bladder-preserving multimodality treatment (BPMT), consisting of transurethral resection of the bladder tumor (TURB) followed by combined chemoradiotherapy (CRT). We aimed to investigate the effectiveness of vinorelbine, a chemotherapeutic agent not routinely used for MIBC, in patients referred to CRT who are unfit for standard chemotherapy and would thus rely solely on radiotherapy (RT).

Arrhythmogenic Cardiomyopathy (ACM) is a genetically based cardiomyopathy associated with ventricular arrhythmias and fibro-fatty substitution of cardiac tissue. It is characterized by incomplete penetrance. We generated human iPSCs by episomal reprogramming of blood cells from three members of the same family: the proband, affected by ACM and carrying the heterozygous plakophillin2 p.

Psychological distress imposed by the SARS-CoV-2 outbreak particularly affects patients with pre-existing medical conditions, and the progression of their diseases. Patients who fail to keep scheduled medical appointments experience a negative impact on care. The aim of this study is to investigate the psychosocial factors contributing to the cancellation of medical appointments during the pandemic by patients with pre-existing health conditions.

Aims: To assess the prevalence of cardiovascular risk factors (CVRFs) and to identify the variables associated with CVRFs in a cohort of children and adolescents with Type 1 Diabetes.
Methods: 2021 subjects, 2-18 year-old, were recruited in 17 Italian Pediatric Diabetes Centers. Anthropometric, blood pressure, biochemical (HbA1c, lipid profile, ACR), insulin therapy, physical activity level, smoking and family socio-economic status data were collected.

Adults with Type 1 diabetes mellitus show a high risk of bone fracture, probably as a consequence of a decreased bone mass and microarchitectural bone alterations. The aim of the study was to investigate the potential negative effects of type 1 diabetes on bone geometry, quality, and bone markers in a group of children and adolescents. 96 children, mean age 10.

Background: Arrhythmogenic cardiomyopathy (ACM) is an inherited genetic disorder, characterized by the substitution of heart muscle with fibro-fatty tissue and severe ventricular arrhythmias, often leading to heart failure and sudden cardiac death. ACM is considered a monogenic disorder, but the low penetrance of mutations identified in patients suggests the involvement of additional genetic or environmental factors.
Methods: We used whole exome sequencing to investigate digenic inheritance in two ACM families where previous diagnostic tests have revealed a PKP2 mutation in all affected and some healthy individuals.

Hashimoto's thyroiditis (HT) is one of the commonest autoimmune endocrine diseases in the paediatric age group. It is considered a typical, organ-specific, autoimmune disease, characterized by autoimmune-mediated destruction of the thyroid gland. The diagnosis is suggested by a typical ultrasound pattern and by the presence of antithyroid antibodies.

We validated the association of tumor necrosis with pathological features and clinical outcomes in a large international cohort of patients with upper tract urothelial carcinoma treated with radical nephroureterectomy.
Material And Methods: This retrospective study included 754 patients treated with radical nephroureterectomy at a total of 9 centers.

Purpose: We compared the treatment efficacy and safety of the novel Lithoskop electromagnetic extracorporeal shock wave lithotriptor for upper urinary tract stones with and without prior ureteral stent placement.
Materials And Methods: A total of 665 consecutive patients harboring single renal or ureteral stones underwent shock wave lithotripsy between August 2006 and July 2008. In 75 and 46 patients with renal and ureteral stones, respectively, stents were placed before the first shock wave lithotripsy session.

The aim of the study was to evaluate the immunohistochemical expression of p16INK4a as a marker of progression risk in low-grade dysplastic lesions of the cervix uteri. p16INK4a immunohistochemistry was performed on 32 CIN1 with proven spontaneous regression of the lesion in the follow-up (group A), 31 (group B) with progression to CIN3 and 33 (group C) that were randomly chosen irrespective of the natural history of the lesion. p16INK4a staining pattern was scored as negative (less than 5% cells in the lower third of dysplastic epithelium stained), as focally positive (< or = 25%) and as diffuse positive (> 25%).
