Recurrent pregnancy loss (RPL) represents a complication of pregnancy occurring in 1%-3% of all couples trying to conceive. About 50%-60% of RPL cases remain idiopathic, therefore therapeutic strategies seem empirical and based on unproven evidence. We investigated the efficacy of corticosteroids in women with RPL.

Purpose: This systematic review aimed to assess the feasibility, safety, and efficacy of using modern external beam radiotherapy (EBRT) techniques, such as intensity-modulated radiotherapy (IMRT), volumetric modulated arc therapy (VMAT), and stereotactic body radiotherapy (SBRT) as alternative approaches to brachytherapy (BRT) in adjuvant treatment of endometrial cancer (EC).
Material And Methods: A systematic review was conducted following PRISMA guidelines. The research question was framed using the PICO method, focusing on patients with EC [P] and comparing modern EBRT techniques (IMRT, VMAT, SBRT) [I] vs.

Introduction: Biliary tract cancers (BTC) are rare and aggressive neoplasms. The current management of locally advanced or unresectable BTC is primarily based on chemotherapy (CHT) alone, linked to a median overall survival (OS) of approximately 12 months. However, international guidelines still consider concurrent chemoradiation (CRT) as an alternative treatment option.

Objective: To provide a comprehensive overview of peripheral spondyloarthritis (pSpA), focusing specifically on its occurrence and management in patients with inflammatory bowel disease (IBD).
Methods: An exhaustive literature search was conducted in PubMed, Embase, Cochrane Database of Systematic Reviews, and Google Scholar to identify relevant studies on pSpA in IBD patients. Titles, abstracts, and full-text articles were screened for relevance.

Objective: The aim of the study was to assess the survival rates and surgery-related toxicity in patients with locally advanced squamous cell vulvar cancer (LAVC) managed by upfront chemoradiation (CRT) with/without following by surgery. CRT is the primary treatment for patients with unresectable locally advanced squamous cell vulvar carcinoma (LAVC), followed by surgery in case of residual tumor.
Methods: Patients with AJCC stage II-IV squamous cell vulvar carcinoma referred to Gynecologic Oncology Unit at Fondazione Policlinico Universitario Agostino Gemelli I.

Purpose: The aim of this observational, retrospective, multicenter study (Epimetheo) was to analyze the activity and the safety of stereotactic body radiation therapy (SBRT) during poly(ADP-ribose)-polymerase inhibitor (PARPi) maintenance in a series of oligometastatic ovarian cancer (OC) patients.
Methods And Materials: Patients treated with PARPi in maintenance setting received SBRT if oligometastatic progression occurred. Maintenance treatment was continued until the extensive progression of the disease.

Port site metastasis (PSM) has been reported as a rare metastasis in women with endometrial carcinoma (EC). However, even more rarely, it has also been described in patients with low- or intermediate-risk EC. Unfortunately, knowledge appears limited on the topic.

Aims: Using a database from two pharmaceutical companies that managed several compassionate use programs in the last few years in Italy, we have previously analyzed the data by the number of patients and centers in each region and province, showing that the use of compassionate drugs is largely diffused in the country, in a manner directly related to the size of population of each region. In the present study we used the same database to expand the analysis to single-center level, aiming to test the hypothesis whether, despite a good diffusion of compassionate drug uses in each region, the majority of them concentrates within a relatively low number of centers.
Methods: Data from different programs were grouped per center, and the centers were ordered per the number of compassionate uses dispensed, and per region.

Background/aim: Heterotopic ossification (HO) is a common complication following total hip arthroplasty. Various prophylactic treatments have been proposed, including radiotherapy (RT). This review summarizes the evidence from meta-analyses on the efficacy of RT in preventing hip HO.

Objective: To investigate the safety of sentinel node mapping for patients with early-stage cervical cancer undergoing cervical conization plus nodal evaluation.
Methods: The ETERNITY project is a retrospective, multi-institutional study collecting data of patients with early-stage cervical cancer undergoing fertility-sparing treatment. Here, we compared outcomes related to three methods of nodal assessment: sentinel node mapping (SNM), SNM plus backup lymphadenectomy (SNM + LND); pelvic lymphadenectomy (LND).

Spondyloarthritis (SpA) is the most frequent extraintestinal manifestation in patients with inflammatory bowel diseases (IBD). When IBD and spondyloarthritis coexist, musculoskeletal and intestinal disease features should be considered when planning a therapeutic strategy. Treatment options for IBD and SpA have expanded enormously over the last few years, but randomized controlled trials with specific endpoints focused on SpA are not available in the IBD setting.

Locally advanced cervical cancer represents a significant treatment challenge. Body composition parameters such as body mass index, sarcopenia, and sarcopenic obesity, defined by sarcopenia and BMI ≥ 30 kg/m, have been identified as potential prognostic factors, yet their overall impact remains underexplored. This study assessed the relationship between these anthropometric parameters alongside clinical prognostic factors on the prognosis of 173 cervical cancer patients.

Objective: This study aimed to evaluate the prevalence of concurrent endometrial cancer in patients pre-operatively diagnosed with atypical endometrial hyperplasia undergoing hysterectomy. Additionally, we assessed the occurrence of high to intermediate-risk and high-risk tumors according to the ESGO-ESTRO-ESP classification. The study also compared surgical outcomes and complications between patients undergoing simple hysterectomy and those undergoing hysterectomy with sentinel lymph node biopsy.

Purpose: We present a large real-world multicentric dataset of ovarian, uterine and cervical oligometastatic lesions treated with SBRT exploring efficacy and clinical outcomes. In addition, an exploratory machine learning analysis was performed.
Methods: A pooled analysis of gynecological oligometastases in terms of efficacy and clinical outcomes as well an exploratory machine learning model to predict the CR to SBRT were carried out.

Background: Pain is a prevalent symptom among cancer patients, and its management is crucial for improving their quality of life. However, pain management in cancer patients referred to radiotherapy (RT) departments is often inadequate, and limited research has been conducted on this specific population. This study aimed to assess the adequacy and effectiveness of pain management when patients are referred for RT.

Background: The objective of this study was to assess the impact of age and other patient and treatment characteristics on toxicity in prostate cancer patients receiving adjuvant radiotherapy (RT).
Materials And Methods: This observational study (ICAROS-1) evaluated both acute (RTOG) and late (RTOG/EORTC) toxicity. Patient- (age; Charlson's comorbidity index) and treatment-related characteristics (nodal irradiation; previous TURP; use, type, and duration of ADT, RT fractionation and technique, image-guidance systems, EQD2 delivered to the prostate bed and pelvic nodes) were recorded and analyzed.
