Purpose: There is not a classification of azygos anterior cerebral artery (ACA) based on anatomical branching levels in the literature. In the present study, a classification of azygos ACA was made based on radiological imaging for a common terminology, and frequency, accompanying vascular anomalies and malformations were investigated.

Methods: A total of 4913 cases who had brain CTA, MRA, contrast-enhanced MRI and DSA in January 2010-January 2020 period were screened for the study.

Recent advances in the understanding of underlying molecular signaling mechanisms of cancer susceptibility and progression have led to an increase in the use of targeted therapies for cancer treatment. Despite improvements in survival with new treatment options in oncology, resistance to therapy is a major obstacle to the long-term effectiveness of targeted agents in metastatic cancer treatment, culminating in insensitivity to treatment and tumor outgrowth. Adaptive resistance can play an important role in primary and upfront resistance to therapy as well as in secondary or acquired resistance.

Impact of metabolic syndrome and clinical features on functioning in patients with bipolar disorder: a cross-sectional study.

Objective: The metabolic syndrome (MS) is highly prevalent among patients with bipolar disorder (BD), and may affect progression, functioning, and comorbid conditions in BD. The aim of this study was to investigate the effect of clinical variables and MS on overall functioning and specific areas of functioning in patients with BD.

The Role of Pre-ablative Stimulated Thyroglobulin and Thyroglobulin/Thyroid-Stimulating Hormone Ratio for Predicting Metastasis in Thyroid Cancer.

Objectives: In this study, we aimed to investigate the predictive value of pre-ablative stimulated thyroglobulin (Tg) and Tg/thyroid-stimulating hormone (TSH) to identify lymph node metastasis (LNM) or distant metastases (DM) prior to radioactive iodine (RAI) treatment.

Methods: Patients without metastasis were included in group 1 (n=100), those with LNM were included in group 2 (n=83), and those with DM constituted group 3 (n=23). Tg and TSH values were measured approximately 4 hours prior to RAI ablation therapy.

Background: A toxin-antitoxin (TA) system is a set of two or more closely linked genes that are encoded as a poison and a corresponding antidote on a protein. In typical bacterial physiology, an antitoxin binds to a toxin and neutralizes it, which prevents the bacterium from killing itself. We aimed to determine whether and isolates have TA genes and to investigate whether there is a relationship between the expression levels of TA genes and resistance to antibiotics.

The aim of this study was to evaluate the association between bone mineral density (BMD) and 25-hydroxyvitamin D [25(OH) D] levels in patients with obstructive sleep apnea syndrome (OSAS). Acute renal infarction in Turkey: a review of 121 cases.

Purpose: Renal infarction is a clinical condition which is caused by renal artery occlusion and leads to permanent renal parenchymal damage. In the literature, there are generally case reports on this subject, and few studies that include a large group of patients. Therefore, we aimed to present the data of a large group of patients who were diagnosed with acute renal infarction in our country in this retrospective study.

Background: Ventricular premature contractions (VPCs) may trigger lethal ventricular arrhythmias in patients with structural heart disease. Objective: A permanent balance exists between the production and elimination of reactive oxygen species in all living organisms. The aim of this study was to evaluate the effects of sevoflurane possibly causing an imbalance in the equation of reactive oxygen species on the female rat reproductive system.
