Background and objective Bladder cancer (BC) is a common urothelial neoplasm, with non-muscle invasive forms comprising about 75% of cases and generally having better outcomes than muscle-invasive types. Accurate preoperative grading and staging of BC are essential for appropriate treatment planning. This study investigates the efficacy of computerized tomography (CT) in correlating the morphological features of tumors to predict the histopathological grades of BC.

Background: Open reduction and internal fixation (ORIF) using locking plates is a widely adopted treatment for displaced proximal humerus fractures. Various augmentation techniques have been developed to enhance the stability of plate fixation. Among these, iliac bone autograft is notable for its advantages over allografts, such as ready availability and the elimination of costs and risks associated with disease transmission.

Background: Acute stress induced by a sudden burden of emergency conditions and traumatic events, such as wars, earthquakes, situations requiring isolation, pandemics, and disasters, can have pathological consequences on healthcare providers (HCPs) if not diagnosed early. Therefore, the objective of this investigation is to culturally validate the self-administered Acute Stress Scale (EASE) in the Turkish context.
Method: The study consisted of 127 HCPs working with COVID-19 patients in services and clinics during the pandemic.

Objectives: The objective of this study was to evaluate the Systemic Inflammation Index (SII), Platelet to Lymphocyte Ratio (PLR), and Neutrophil to Lymphocyte Ratio (NLR) in HT and NIH, as well as their diagnostic value to predict the presence of inflammation.
Subjects And Methods: The study included 505 patients, including 190 healthy controls, 166 euthyroid Hashimoto's thyroiditis (HT), 91 hypothyroid HT, and 58 non- immunogenic hypothyroidism (NIH) patients. The records of the patients in each group were reviewed retrospectively.

Background: This study aimed to evaluate oxidative damage by measuring erythrocytic reduced/oxidized glutathione as an intracellular thiol pool and serum thiol/disulfide homeostasis as an extracellular thiol pool in patients with opioid use disorder.
Methods: In this prospective cross-sectional study, 33 male patients diagnosed with opioid use disorder and 30 healthy male controls were included. Sociodemographic characteristics and psychometric analyzes were performed and addiction characteristics (duration and amount of heroin use, usage methods) were recorded.
Objective In this study, we aimed to assess the rates of pneumococcal and seasonal influenza vaccinations among elderly and nonelderly diabetes patients and examine their perceptions and attitudes toward the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) vaccine. Methods A single-center study was conducted among patients with diabetes, employing a structured survey encompassing sociodemographic data, vaccination records, and the COVID-19 vaccine perception and attitude scale. Results Among the 280 diabetes patients in our study, the vaccination rates for COVID-19, seasonal influenza, and pneumococcal vaccines were 96.

The core principle of the protocol is to minimize the metabolic disturbance caused by surgical injury, facilitate the restoration of functions in a brief period, and promote the resumption of normal activity at the earliest. To compare the outcomes of ERAS and standard protocol for patients who have undergone radical cystectomy (RC) with ileal conduit urinary diversion.

Background: 'Mo-fi-disc' is a new scoring system that quantifies degeneration of the lumbar spine and predicts the intensity of low back pain (LBP). However, its association with LBP-related disability is unknown. In the present study, we aimed to analyze whether 'Mo-fi-disc' scoring system could predict LBP-related disability and distinguish patients with LBP from asymptomatic subjects, while the spine medicine marching towards the era of artificial intelligence (AI).

Objective: We aimed to evaluate the effects of cardiopulmonary bypass (CPB) machines used in coronary artery bypass grafting surgeries on cerebral perfusion by performing cerebral oximetry monitoring [near-infrared spectroscopy (NIRS)], S100-β protein measurements, and neurocognitive function assessment tests using both pulsatile and non-pulsatile modes.
Methods: A total of 44 patients, 22 non-pulsatile (Group NP) and 22 pulsatile (Group P), were included in the study. Hemodynamic parameters, arterial blood gas values, NIRS values and blood S100β protein levels were analyzed at five points: pre-induction (T1), initiation of CPB (T2), termination of CPB (T3), end of surgery (T4), and postoperative 24 h (T5).

Extraosseous Ewing sarcoma is a rare and aggressive malignancy belonging to the Ewing sarcoma family of tumors, primarily affecting soft tissues such as the pelvis, retroperitoneum, and chest wall. Although it predominantly involves these soft tissues, extraosseous Ewing sarcoma can also occur in solid organs, including the pancreas. Here, we present a rare case of a 4-year-old girl diagnosed with primary extraosseous Ewing sarcoma of the pancreas.

Fine needle aspiration biopsy (FNAB) guided by ultrasonography is routinely used to identify thyroid nodules prior to surgery. Although FNAB has great diagnostic accuracy and safety, it is limited by its relatively low diagnostic accuracy in follicular lesions, such as non-diagnostic or atypia of unclear significance (AUS)/follicular lesion of uncertain significance (FLUS). Additional diagnostic tests are required to overcome these challenges in evaluating thyroid nodules.

Background: Mechanical and inflammatory factors were suggested as the causes of spine degeneration and low back pain (LBP). Previous studies partly reported the association of LBP with inflammation. However, none of them compared patients with LBP and asymptomatic subjects in terms of complete blood count and inflammatory markers in detail.

Objective: We aimed to evaluate the effectiveness of high-dose and low-dose use of radioactive material in intraoperative gamma probe application methods in patients diagnosed with primary hyperparathyroidism and planned for surgery.
Methods: 47 patients with primary hyperparathyroidism underwent minimally-invasive parathyroid surgery (MIS) after preoperative imaging studies consisting of ultrasonography (USG) and sestamibi parathyroid scintigraphy (SPS) showed a possible primary parathyroid lesion (PPL). All patients received Tc-99 sestamibi on day-of-surgery imaging (DOSI) to help with the localization of a primary parathyroid lesion (PPL) via both DOSI and intraoperative gamma probe (IGP).
