The etiology of tic disorders (TDs) is not precisely known, although several lines of evidence suggest involvement of the immune system in pathogenesis. Here, we aimed to determine the expression levels of pro-inflammatory and anti-inflammatory cytokines in children with TD and compare them with those of healthy controls. Furthermore, we also evaluated their association with clinical variables in the TD group.

Purpose: The intraocular lens blocking technique described for the removal of intraocular foreign bodies emerged as a result of an effort to prevent the foreign body from being retracted into the posterior segment because of the resistance encountered while removing it from the corneal incision. However, in the technique described, in addition to the difficulty of the surgical procedure, the new concern is to create a posterior capsulorhexis according to the size of the foreign body and to pass the foreign body through the capsulorhexis.
Methods: Here, the authors describe a new approach to the intraocular lens blocking technique.

In 15 Turkish LAD-1 patients and controls, we assessed the impact of pathogenic ITGB2 mutations on Th17/Treg differentiation and functions, and innate lymphoid cell (ILC) subsets. The percentage of peripheral blood Treg cells, in vitro-generated induced Tregs differentiated from naive CD4 T cells were decreased despite the elevated absolute counts of CD4 cells in LAD-1 patients. Serum IL-23 levels were elevated in LAD-1 patients.

Background: Advances in immunosuppressive therapies and surgical techniques have led to a significant reduction in the incidence of rejection within 1 year after kidney transplantation. Immunologic risk is an important factor affecting graft functions and guiding the clinician in the selection of induction therapy. The aim of this study was to investigate graft functions based on serum creatinine levels, Chronic Kidney Disease Epidemiology Collaboration (CKD- EPI) and proteinuria levels, frequency of leukopenia, cytomegalovirus (CMV) and BK virus polymerase chain reaction (PCR) positivity in patients with low and high immunologic risk.
