Background: Cardioplegia solutions are used to protect the myocardium from ischemic injury caused by cardiopulmonary bypass and various types of cardioplegia solutions have been introduced for cardiac surgery. In this study, we aimed to compare the effects of del Nido cardioplegia and microplegia, which were mostly used in our clinic for intraoperative and postoperative processes among patients who underwent elective mitral valve replacement. As a result, the comparison could be performed in a specific patient group without additional valvular or coronary disease, and cardioplegia distribution could be achieved more efficiently.

Patent ductus arteriosus (PDA) is a frequently encountered defect in infants born extremely premature (≤26 weeks' gestation). Historically, closure of the PDA was performed using cyclooxygenase inhibitor medications or by surgical ligations. However, the benefits of PDA closure using these therapies have never been demonstrated, albeit studies have previously not focused on the extremely premature infants.

Methods: We included data from patients <20 years of age when commencing KRT from 2007 to 2017 from 22 European countries within the European Society of Paediatric Nephrology/European Renal Association Registry.
Objective: The present study assesses the effect of the proportion of tissue resected during transurethral resections of the prostate (TUR-P) on lower urinary tract symptoms (LUTS) and other parameters in patients with a benign prostatic obstruction (BPO).
Materials And Methods: Forty-three patients who underwent TUR-P between 2018 and 2021 were assessed prospectively. The patients were divided into two groups according to the percentage of tissue removed (group 1 <30%, group 2 >30% resection).

Background: Fine-needle aspiration cytology (FNAC) is a reliable technique that has been used for many years in lymphadenopathy diagnosis. Although conventional smear is the standard approach in FNAC, liquid-based cytology (LBC) is accepted as an alternative method. Reporting standardization is a significant gap in fine-needle aspiration cytology, leading to failure in pathologist-clinician dialog and interobserver variability.

The AETHERA trial reported an increased progression-free survival (PFS) when brentuximab vedotin (BV) was used as maintenance therapy in high-risk Hodgkin lymphoma (HL) after autologous stem cell transplantation (ASCT). Thus, we aimed to determine the impact and safety of BV as maintenance after ASCT in real-world patients. Seventy-five patients with relapsed/refractory HL started on BV consolidation therapy after ASCT due to high risk of relapse, between January 2016 and July 2019, from 25 institutions, were included in the study.

The CD47-signal regulatory protein-alpha (SIRPα) immune checkpoint constitutes a therapeutic target in cancer, and initial clinical studies using inhibitors of CD47-SIRPα interactions in combination with tumor-targeting antibodies show promising results. Blockade of CD47-SIRPα interaction can promote neutrophil antibody-dependent cellular cytotoxicity (ADCC) toward antibody-opsonized targets. Neutrophils induce killing of antibody-opsonized tumor cells by a process identified as trogoptosis, a necrotic/lytic type of cancer cell death that involves trogocytosis, the antibody-mediated endocytic acquisition of cancer membrane fragments by neutrophils.
