Developments in computer-aided design and three-dimensional (3D) printing have revolutionized the workflow for orthodontic applications. The purpose of this review article is to provide information about 3D printer history and types, appliances manufactured using 3D printers, and new designs that can be used in different cases. Articles published between January 2010 and November 2020 were reviewed on PubMed, MEDLINE, ScienceDirect, Elsevier, and Google academic resources, and 69 were identified as appropriate for the study.

Objective: Functional treatment of Class II malocclusion is expected to lead to adaptation in the condyle. This study aimed to evaluate the effects of adipose tissue-derived mesenchymal stem cells (ADMSCs), low-level laser therapy (LLLT), and grape-seed extract (GSE) on condylar growth after functional mandibular advancement.
Methods: Forty-five rats were randomly divided into 8 groups.

Introduction: This study aimed to compare the bond strength of teeth treated with radiotherapy with two cavity disinfectants (Chlorhexidine gluconate, a chitosan-containing agent).
Methodology: Eighteen newly extracted, non-carious human third molar teeth were used. The teeth were randomly divided into two main groups, treated and/or non-treated with radiotherapy, then separated into three subgroups for disinfectant agent application (CHX, chitosan, control).
Purpose: The aim of the present study is to compare the fracture resistance of teeth after access cavity preparation with conventional rotary burs, Erbium-doped yttrium aluminum garnet laser (Er:YAG) and Erbium, cromium: yttrium scandium gallium garnet laser (Er,Cr:YSGG) lasers.
Materials And Methods: Fifty five intact mandibular molars were divided into 3 negative groups (groups 1, 2, 3; n=5 for each), 3 study groups (groups 4, 5, 6; n=10 for each) and 1 positive control group (intact teeth; n=10). Access cavities of groups 1, 2 and 3 were prepared with conventional burs, Er:YAG laser and Er,Cr:YSGG laser respectively.

Objectives: The aim of this study was to investigate the influence of artifacts produced by different restorative materials on the detection of approximal caries in cone-beam computed tomography (CBCT) scans with and without the application of an artifact-reduction (AR) option.
Study Design: Ninety-eight noncavitated premolar and molar teeth were placed with approximal contacts consisting of 2 sound or carious teeth and 1 mesial-occlusal-distal restored tooth with resin-modified glass-ionomer cement (RMGIC), amalgam, composite, ceramic-based composite (CBC), or computer-aided design-computer-aided manufacturing (CAD-CAM) zirconia materials in between. The teeth were scanned with a CBCT system with and without the AR option.

Objective: The aim of this in vitro study was to investigate the influence of the adjacent tooth surface on pen type laser fluorescence (LFpen) and light-emitting diode (LED) device readings in detecting approximal caries lesions in permanent teeth.
Background Data: Early detection of noncavitated dental caries is important, because disease progression can be easily halted at this stage with certain applications, such as fluoride therapy, antibacterial therapy, dietary changes, or low-intensity laser irradiation.
Materials And Methods: A total of 87 permanent molars with 156 approximal surfaces were assessed with LED- and LF-based devices in contact with sound tooth surfaces (the control group) as well as approximal amalgam, composite, zirconia, and full ceramic restorations.

Myiasis is an infestation of living or dead tissue of humans and animals by diptera larvae. Gingival myiasis is a rare pathology and is mainly associated with poor oral hygiene, alcoholism, senility, suppurative lesions, mouth breathing, mental retardation and hemiplegia. Myiasis is most common during summer since the fly population increases during this season.

Objective: Different fixation techniques have been used for stabilization of autotransplanted teeth. Because rigid or extended fixation periods can cause complications such as ankylosis and disturbances of pulpal revascularization, our aim was to evaluate an alternative technique, a removable splint, for improving the success rate of autotransplanted molar teeth.
Study Design: In 44 patients, (20 male and 24 female patients), 45 transplanted teeth were analyzed.

Methods: Thirty-five patients with generalized aggressive periodontitis and 85 healthy controls without periodontitis were included in the study. Probing depth (PD), clinical attachment loss (CAL), plaque index (PI), and gingival index (GI) were recorded as clinical parameters.

Myeloperoxidase (MPO) is a lysosomal enzyme found in the azurophilic granules of polymorphonuclear leukocytes. It is involved in the defense against periodontal bacteria, and is also able to mediate inflammatory tissue destruction in aggressive and chronic periodontitis. The aim of this study was to explore the association between MPO-463G/A gene polymorphism and aggressive periodontitis (AgP) and chronic periodontitis (CP).
