The aim of this study was to compare the effectiveness of different types of low level laser treatment (LLLT) in reducing pain levels, changing oxygen saturation and bite force in patients with myofacial pain syndrome (MPS). 45 patients were randomly assigned to three groups: Group 1 (GRR laser, n = 15) received LLLT with Gallium-Aluminium-Arsenide (GaAlAs) diode laser with a wavelength of 904 nm and red laser with a wavelength of 650 nm over masseter muscle region. Group 2 (Nd: YAG laser, n = 15) were treated with Neodymium-doped Yttrium Aluminium Garnet laser with a wavelength of 1064 nm and the same protocol with Nd: YAG laser was performed in the Group 3 (placebo, n = 15) using sham device.

Background: The high prevalence of malnutrition among those of older age and the lack of nutrition knowledge among the elderly and their caregivers underscore the need for a nutrition education intervention (NEI) for caregivers.

Materials And Methods: Patients enrolled in the "home care program" who were dependent, were >65 years of age, and had caregivers (n = 94) were included in the study. A nutritionist conducted initial NEI sessions for caregivers and subsequently monitored them monthly at home for 12 months.

This study aims to evaluate the prognostic significance of various laboratory parameters in predicting the length of hospital stay and mortality among pediatric patients undergoing lobectomy and pneumonectomy for infectious or noninfectious diseases. This study was conducted by retrospective data analysis of 59 pediatric patients who underwent lobectomy and pneumonectomy due to variable diseases at the department of chest surgery. Pediatric patients diagnosed with variable diseases and who underwent lobectomy or pneumonectomy, patients who were hospitalized during the study period and underwent surgical intervention, and patients who had at least one laboratory parameter recorded before surgery were included in the study.

Purpose: Cochlear implants (CI) are the most successful bioprosthesis in medicine probably due to the tonotopic anatomy of the auditory pathway and of course the brain plasticity. Correct placement of the CI arrays, respecting the inner ear anatomy are therefore important. The ideal trajectory to insert a cochlear implant array is defined by an entrance through the round window membrane and continues as long as possible parallel to the basal turn of the cochlea.
