Background: Children requiring kidney replacement therapy experience high burden of cardiovascular (CV) disease leading to increased mortality. Intima-media thickness (IMT) indicating atherosclerosis is a validated surrogate marker for future CV events.
Methods: We investigated the effect of different treatment modalities (dialysis, preemptive kidney transplantation (KTx), late KTx after dialysis) on IMT by multivariable linear mixed-effect modeling.

Introduction: In this study, it was aimed to investigate the clinical (real-life) impact of the vaccination protocol on patients undergoing kidney transplantation during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Methodology: A total of 260 patients who underwent kidney transplantation between June 2012 and May 2022 were retrospectively evaluated. Patients chose vaccination Sinovac-CoronaVac (CoronaVac) and/or BNT162b2 (Biontech), the first vaccine available in the country) in line with the regulations and recommendations of the Ministry of Health.

Materials/methods: This retrospective cohort study was conducted in 18 tertiary-care academic hospitals Turkey, India, Egypt and Romania. We extracted data and outcomes of all patients with post-neurosurgical meningitis cases fulfilling the study inclusion criteria and treated with empirical therapy between December 2006-September 2018.

Background: In this study, we examined the efficacy and safety of a once-daily dosage schema of colchicine compared with a twice-daily dosage schema in pediatric patients with familial Mediterranean fever (FMF).
Methods: In this 24-week, multicenter, randomized controlled noninferiority trial, pediatric patients newly diagnosed with FMF carrying a homozygous or compound heterozygous mutation and not receiving any treatment were included. Patients were randomly assigned using a block randomization method to receive treatment with a once- or twice-daily dosage.
