The National Centre for Stereotactic Radiosurgery, Sheffield Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, Royal Hallamshire Hospital, Sheffield, United Kingdom.
Introduction: The incidence of intracranial metastatic disease is increasing worldwide. As a valuable treatment modality, stereotactic radiosurgery requires detailed imaging, and this study evaluated the differences between imaging obtained on the day of treatment compared to historical or referral imaging.
Materials And Methods: A retrospective cohort study was performed, evaluating all the patients presenting with eligible referral imaging in a 13-month period and comparing this imaging to the imaging taken on the day of treatment.

Purpose: To assess the impact of inserting an ophthalmic viscoelastic device (OVD) into the dexamethasone (DEX) implant needle on pellet velocity in simulated vitrectomized eyes.
Methods: DEX implants were injected into a calibrated ex vivo test chamber filled with balanced salt solution (BSS). All DEX implants were administered by the same physician and aiming for the same button depression time.

Objective: Addiction is a serious spiral where negative events or relationships trigger a craving even when the situation is caused by the addiction in the first place. Nucleus accumbens is identified as an important hub for the neural pathways involved in the addictive behavior. Stimulation of this structure was demonstrated to be beneficial for addiction previously, but radioneuromodulation was never investigated until today.

Introduction: Platelets (PLT) and host systemic inflammatory response (SIR) are known to be effective in the aggregation of cancer cells and the formation of metastasis. There are studies pointing out to the prognostic efficacy of lymphocyte-monocyte ratio (LMR) showing SIR activation and mean platelet volume (MPV) values indicating platelet activation in various cancer types. We predict that easy-to-access hemogram parameters such as MPV, MPV/PLT, and LMR can be guiding in the clinical follow-up period of patients with epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR) positive mutation and who received EGFR, tyrosine kinase inhibitor (TKI) in the first-line treatment in predicting the progression of the disease, predicting the survival time of the patients, and evaluating the response to treatment.

Background: It is known established that the cardiac effects of COVID-19 infection are associated with poor prognosis and high mortality rates in infected patients. The aim of this study was to evaluate the cardiac effects of COVID-19 infection in paediatric patients and identify the correlations between clinical and laboratory data and the degree of cardiac involvement.
Materials And Methods: A retrospective data analysis was conducted on 64 paediatric patients at Gazi University Department of Pediatrics who were treated as inpatients with a diagnosis of COVID-19.

Unlabelled: In this study, we aimed to investigate the levels of Fibroblast Growth Factor-8 (FGF-8), FGF-10, FGF-Receptor-2 (FGFR-2), Androgen receptor (AR), Estrogen receptor alpha and beta (ER-α and ER-β) in the foreskins of children with and without hypospadias.
Methods: Samples from the foreskins of 20 children with hypospadias and 20 skin samples from children without hypospadias between the ages of 14 months and 12 years were taken during circumcision or hypospadias correction surgery for immunohistochemical (IHC) examination of these markers. In IHC examination, it was shown that ER-α, ER-β and AR receptors were more involved in the foreskin of children with hypospadias than in the fore-skin of without hypospadias children, and FGF-8, FGF-10 and FGFR-2 were lower (p<0.

Purpose: Current measures of frailty often rely on subjective assessments or complex scoring systems. This study aims to investigate the utility of a novel anthropometric measure, the Weight-Adjusted Waist Index (WWI), as a simple and objective predictive marker for frailty in older adults.
Methods: This cross-sectional study included 847 patients aged 65 years and older.

Background: The coexistence of sepsis and hematological malignancies increases patient vulnerability, revealing the need for precise prognostic markers. This study explores the prognostic significance of lactate levels and clearance in septic patients with hematological malignancies.
Materials And Methods: A retrospective cohort study from January 2016 to December 2019 in a tertiary hematological intensive care unit (ICU) included 167 adults with hematological malignancies and sepsis.

We evaluated the effects of repeated ketamine, propofol, and ketamine + propofol administration on cognitive functions and brain tissue of elderly rat models with streptozotocin-induced Alzheimer's disease. Thirty elderly male Wistar Albino rats were divided into five groups: control (Group C), Alzheimer's (Group A), Alzheimer's + ketamine (Group AK), Alzheimer's + propofol (Group AP), and Alzheimer's + propofol + ketamine (Group APK). Alzheimer's disease was induced in Groups A, AK, AP, and APK via intracerebroventricular streptozotocin.

Purpose: Single-shot echo-planar imaging (ss-EPI) has limited application in vertebral column imaging due to numerous artifacts. Therefore, we aimed to compare readout-segmented echo-planar imaging (rs-EPI) to ss-EPI and assess its value in the differential diagnosis of vertebral infectious, tumoral infiltrative, and degenerative disorders.
Materials And Methods: Sixty-six adult patients with spondylodiscitis (SD, n = 26), tumoral infiltration (TI, n = 20), or Modic type I degeneration (DE, n = 20) findings on spinal magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) included in this retrospective study.

Background: Factors associated with severe COVID-19 infection have been identified; however, the impact of infection on longer-term outcomes is unclear. The objective of this study was to examine the impact of COVID-19 infection on the trajectory of lung function and nutritional status in people with cystic fibrosis (pwCF).
Methods: This is a retrospective global cohort study of pwCF who had confirmed COVID-19 infection diagnosed between January 1, 2020 and December 31, 2021.

Purpose: To investigate the clinical outcomes of patients treated with isolated subscapularis tear repair and biceps tenodesis using a single anchor.
Methods: Patients diagnosed with subscapularis tear and who underwent arthroscopic surgery by a single surgeon between February 2017 and January 2022 were evaluated retrospectively. Inclusion criteria were patients who underwent repair of isolated subscapularis tear along with tenodesis for long head of the biceps tendon pathologies such as SLAP lesion, instability, partial tear, or tenosynovitis, with a minimum follow-up of 24 months.

Background/aims: Liver fatty acid-binding protein (LFABP) controls hepatocyte lipid metabolism and can be a biomarker in liver diseases. We compared the correlation of LFABP levels with liver histology in viral hepatitis and nonalcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) and investigated the utility of serum LFABP as a biomarker for liver damage.
Materials And Methods: We included 142 patients (60 chronic viral hepatitis B [CHB], 35 chronic viral hepatitis C [CHC], 47 NAFLD) and 40 healthy controls.
